The moment the Emperor's presence was announced, everyone stood up and kowtowed to welcome him while wishing him all the good things they could think of.

Everyone stood to their feet with their heads lowered. 


"Thank you, your Majesty!" They all chorused and took their seats according to their statuses.


The ceremonial hall was very large, it could contain around a thousand people. The hall was divided into two sections. One for males, and the other for females.  However, because it was not divided by a veil, the Emperor who was sitting on the high platform could see both the males and females clearly.
