Unknown island

Just before the vehicle struck the water three things happened simultaneously , first leon cut the flow of energy to the hellfire , second he activated his spell that coated the entire vehicle in a layer of glowing silver and finally he reignited the hellfire to continue pushing them forward. this all happened so quickly that opal only just barely managed to catch it before she found out that they were below the surface of the water already. "The fuck just happened?" opal asked confused why they weren't red paste in a crashed can. "i used a spell to shift our inertia evenly towards the sides for the split second we were to strike the water letting us slip in without issue." leon explained.

Opal sighed "you know i really hate you sometimes , everything made sense until you showed up , now it's like i have to question everything not to got insane." she said tiredly. "meh , you'll get used to it." leon said with a shrug. 'gods i hope so.' opal thought but still hadn't regretted teaming up with leon yet since this last week and a half have been the most thrilling she's had in years.

After that the two remained quiet for the next five minutes until the island became visible in the distance and leon pulled the vehicle up out of the water while throttling the flames back to slow down. they still slid along the beach for about a mile but at least they arrived on the island safely. as a bonus in the process of sliding to a stop leon had seen a water attribute dust deposit right at the edge of the islands forest. as anyone could tell you a new source for dust of any kind was extremely valuable which was the reason that in most cases the schnee dust company used forceful methods to control any that are found.

While that company didn't have a monopoly on the market they had suppressed all their competitors to the point they may as well have had one. most of the time water attribute dust was used as a method of heat control in machinery and lacked practical combat roles so it was still very valuable. leon was surprised that no one had realized that the water dust could be turned into high pressure water cutters before he showed up which had raised it's value considerably.

Until then most precise cuts into material had been done by lasers that burned through so much energy that the process was extremely expensive. with the introduction of the water cutters the cost of those precision cut parts dropped to almost a fraction of the original cost. as a military nation atlas had obviously profited the most from this particular innovation since the cost of their mechs had dropped a whole lot to construct. it was rather funny that it was thanks to leon that atlas improved so quickly despite the higher ups of the nation positively hating him for being against giving them exclusive access to his products.

Leon knew that all militaristic nations would always eventually try to take over the world and had basically slowed this inevitability down to almost a halt by arming the rest of the world on the same level as atlas. 'got side tracked there for a bit.' leon thought before unstrapping and standing up from his seat. grabbing the handle of the vehicle leon twisted and pushed the hatch open letting the salty air from outside in. it was accompanied by an oddly sweet aroma as well much to his surprise.

Not willing to risk it leon pulled out a gas mask from his bag an handed it to opal who put it on without any fuss. both of them were aware that most natural poisons were sweet in flavor and smell so the mask was a good method of preventing airborne poison from being inhaled. thanks to his peak level four body and semblance leon was very hard to poison to begin with which is why he didn't use a gas mask of his own. keep in mind there wasn't a single poison on this planet that was made for a superhuman physique such as leons unlike in the world of the falna where they were very common to encounter.
