Close call

The flames licked at leons skin but didn't burn him as he walked further and further into the forest. the sheer desperation to stop him that the spiders showed proved that he was starting to get close to the nest. leon didn't care however as he simply allowed his anger to drive his fire forwards in a sort of fugue state. nothing else mattered to him at the moment but the death of this entire species of spiders. soon enough leon reached the nest where he fully unleashed his flames and like a tidal wave they rolled over and devoured everything before them.

"Huuuuu." leon let out a deep breath once there was simply no nest left other than slagged earth. venting was such a great way to relax in leon's opinion as most of the time after you are done you always feel much better. the rest of the day was spent with leon and opal clearing out the stranglers as well as the rest of the webs. "feeling better after you temper tantrum?" opal asked with a smirk when she caught up to leon after they were done. "much better yes , thanks for asking." leon said with a smile.

Opal rolled her eyes "so get to it , explain what that red stuff was and why you needed so much of it." she said seriously. leon shrugged and explained how his semblance worked as well as why he was collecting so much lifeforce. opal rubbed her forehead as a headache formed "so let me get this straight , you are basically immortal so long as you don't run out of life force and you have discovered that you can hold a higher quality and quantity of the stuff by gathering a fuck ton of it and condensing it into a different state of matter?" she asked seriously.

Leon nodded "that is what i just said just simplified a lot. it is true though , yes." he said honestly. opal sighed "you know i think i can officially state that your whole existence is broken beyond belief. even those ridiculously powerful grim took a huge amount of time to reach that level but you are barely sixteen if the news on you is true." she said with a long suffering sigh. "even worse is that you don't think this is enough and you want even MORE power somehow , how a person can even get as strong as you so fast is off as well."

"You are hiding something important to figuring out how you grow so fast." she said seriously and leon had to stop himself from visibly twitching at her deductions. she was correct of course since the missing detail was the falna hidden on his back but he definitely couldn't let anyone know about it. most of his abilities could be explained away to a degree that was acceptable but the falna was the direct result of divine intervention and explaining that was bound to not go well.

The least that would be asked of him was why he was so special as to receive the attention and gifting of a god compared to everyone else in this world. this didn't even include the massive world wide target that every single person in the world would have painted on his back. religions would spring up around the globe hailing him as some sort of savior and anti him groups would also pop up since his existence conflicts with majority of the religions already up and established around the globe. the biggest concern however was that the human race would see that he was a faunus and assume that the entire race was blessed by the divine and seek to erase them in fear.

There were other horrible repercussions to the secret of the falna getting out as well but these were just some of the possible scenarios that could come about. "nope , i am simply that talented." leon said while acting proud. opal gave him a serious stare down as if trying to catch any hints of deception but leon was a master at controlling himself. "i still don't think it's fair that someone like you exist while the rest of the world is stuck at normal levels." opal said with a sigh.
