Respect

" Let's change a topic, have you decided to settle down here since you are back this time? Over the years I had wanted to write to you but I didn't know where I should send the letter to" Bremo said.

" don't you still hate me For breaking your model airplane?" Arci asked, when they were young, her brother broke his model airplane accidentally, she took the blame for him, Bremo stopped talking with her since then.

"I don't have money to pay you now" Arci said jokingly

" I know it wasn't you, it was your elder brother, he wasn't really a kid......" He stopped talking when he saw her expression turned sour.

"Sorry Arci, i shouldn't have brought that up" He apologized.

She put on a calm expression and smiled at him, "It's alright, my brother loved to have friends,, he'd be very happy to know there's another person who still remembers him"

Bremo checked the time on his wristwatch.

"Go get some sleep, I'll be guarding outside the door, call me if you need anytime if you need anything" Bremo told her.

She gave a nod.

Bremo stood up and walked out of the room.

Her calm expression collapsed immediately when he went out.

``If my brother were still alive, he would be the same age as you" She whispered quietly.

....

Drey walked into Richard's office. Richard was reading a file he didn't raise his head from the file he was reading when Drey walked in.

"How can you agree to their terms? They were trying to keep you under control when you hand over hand over your military power and financial power and disband the Bush Army. You will have no support, If Albert Latino wants to settle score with us afterwards there will be nothing we can do" Drey said.

Richard didn't lift his head from the file he was reading and replied him, "Drey, don't worry this is just a stop gap. I was just using it to conciliate Bremo Latino into asking his father to publish the open telegram. I'll become the commander of Los Angeles, we will take it from there. We have no power and money now. Compared to them, we have nothing to lose, right?" Richard replied indifferently.

Drey sighed.

"Why hasn't the open telegram been published yet?" Drey asked in puzzle.

"It takes time, But now whether the open telegram will be published has nothing to do that with us anymore, It depends on whether Mr. Lincoln is willing to do" Richard replied as he closed the file he was reading and stood up from the chair.

He went to the couch inside of the office and lay down to sleep.

When Drey saw this, he shook his head and walked out of the office.

THE NEXT DAY

Richard's eyes were closed as he lay on the couch, Drey walked into the office.

"Marshal" he called out when he saw him still sleeping.

He walked closer to him and called him again when he didn't reply the first time.

"Marshal"

" Has the telegram been published?" Richard asked without opening his eyes.

"As you expected the military governors of all the provinces have received a telegram jointly published by Albert Latino and Pepe to appoint you as the defense commander of Los Angeles" Drey informed him as he stretched his hand and gave him an envelope.

Richard sat up slowly and collected the envelope.

"These are congratulatory telegrams that were all received in the morning. By the way, This is the commission from the Army Headquarters," Drey said and gave him another envelope.

Richard accepts the envelope and opens it, his eyes scanning the content.

He closed the envelope and dropped it on the table.

"It seems Mr Lincoln paid a huge price to get his daughter back" Drey said.

Richard stood up from the couch, "You can leave now" He told Drey and walked towards the inner room.

...

Arci slept on the couch in the inner room, she was feeling uncomfortable and rolled to the other side but fell down on the floor on her butts.

Bremo opened his eyes vigilantly when he heard the sound he slept at the door floor while guarding. He looked towards the source of the noise, Arci tried to stand up slowly, Bremo quickly walked towards her to help her up.

"I am fine, i just got confused from the sleep" Arci said as she sat down on the couch, Bremo sat down beside her and asked her, "Are you okay?"

"I am fine" She replied and smiled at him.

They heard someone clapping and looked towards the door at the same time.

Richard walked into the inner room, his eyes dangerous as he watched how close they were to each other.

Bremo stood up from the couch and walked to meet him, so he wouldn't get close to Arci.

"How did you guys sleep?" Richard asked.

"Marshal Richard, you look so refreshed, I guess you've gotten the satisfying result you want, right?" Bremo asked.

"Of course, I was a hillbilly bandit on horseback. All of a sudden, I'm now a protege of a prestigious family, why would I be dissatisfied?" Richard said mockingly.

"Marshal Richard, no, I should call you Commander Richard now, I guess there is still something you are not happy about," Bremo said.

" Speaking of that, I had to say there is indeed something. It took your father too much time to make up his mind. The open telegram was only published this morning, so I didn't sleep well last night. Well, you wouldn't know what it was like since you spent a wonderful night with a lovely lady. Richard said in his tone, sounding jealous.

Arci stood up from the couch angrily " what nonsense are you talking about?"

"Commander Richard, you and I will be working together in the command, Let's show each other some respect" Bremo said as he patted his shoulder.

"Respect? Sure, but you enjoyed a nice food and drink while holding a beautiful woman in your arms, I'm so envious" Richard said, as he kept mentioning the topic, Arci glared at him angrily.
