Pam drew the curtains open as the sun shone around the room revealing daylight. It was morning already and April had not woken up yet. Pam bent down as she leaned on the bed looking at April and wondering if the human girl was still alive.
"Is she dead?" April heard a voice as she slowly opened her eyes. She scrutinized her surroundings and found out she was still in the same room the unknown man and the witch lady had carried her into. She was trying to remember the things that had happened before she lost consciousness when she caught the sight of an unfamiliar figure, a teenage girl leaning on the bed and just as if she felt her gaze, the teenage girl stood up with her mouth slightly opened and before April could open her mouth to speak, the teenage girl had rushed out of the room leaving April's hand hanged in midair in a failed attempt to stop the teenage girl from leaving.
Rushing towards the living room, pam only saw Caesar sipping a glass of blood. She shook her head before heading to the kitchen to dish out the food for April. Her brother had bought the food items last night and they had prepared dinner for her thinking that she would wake up but she didn't, she had to prepare another meal for her this morning. She didn't even know where that twin brother of hers had gone to early this morning, she could not find him in his room and she wondered what he was up to.
Just as she opened the cupboard to bring out a plate, she heard the sound of a motorbike approaching. Prompted by curiousity, she ran out of the kitchen with a plate on her hand to see who had ridden a motorbike to this place. She was gobsmacked when she saw her brother removing his helmet. She stared at the motorbike which looked brand new as though he had just bought it then she shifted her gaze to her brother. He smiled at her as he came down from his bike looking elated with his new motorbike.
"You... where did you get that from? Did you steal it?" She questioned as she pointed at the motorbike with her mouth still slightly opened. The motorbike looked really expensive and she wondered how Sam was able to get it. Even if he saved the entire allowance Uncle Jonathan had given to him since he was a kid, he wouldn't still be able to get this motorbike so she could only conclude that her brother must have stolen the motorbike.
"What do you take me for?" He retorted as he clicked his tongue.
"Then where did you get it from?" She folded her arm as she enquired on how he had gotten the motorbike.
"I bought it..... with Uncle Damon's money but be rest assured, i didn't steal it." He then explained how Damon gave him a bundle of money which was more than enough for them to get food stuffs and how he used the remaining change to buy this motorbike although there was a particular motorbike Sam had initially wanted to buy but the money with him wasn't enough to get it as it was super expensive that was why he bought this one instead. "I told you i didn't steal it." He said when Pam still gave him that doubtful look even when he had explained how he got the money, she still doubted him.
"If that was what happened then why didn't you give me a share out of the money?"
Sam snorted in laughter at Pam's words. "If i can remember clearly, i was the one who went to meet Uncle Damon for the money so why should i give you a share?"
"Ha ha, nice." She smiled smugly. Since he had started it first, she would as well play along. If he can get a bundle of money for just food stuffs, she can just come up with different means to get money from Uncle Damon.
"What are you thinking about?" He saw that smug smile on her face and he knew she already plotting a plan in her head.
"Nothing." She simply replied as she stuck out her tongue at him and turned to leave but then heard the sound of a motorbike approaching. She turned to see a guy with a helmet riding the motorbike. "What's with the motorbike today?"
Sam gasped in awe as he stared at the motorbike approaching, that was the exact motorbike he had wanted to buy but couldn't afford it. This motorbike was super expensive, who could the rider be? Whoever the rider was, he must be filthy rich.
Sam and Pam's jaw dropped as they stared at the rider as he took off his helmet. Pam didn't know why her heart skipped a beat the moment she saw his face. He was.... he was the fourth prince; prince Darren, her long time crush. She flushed deeply the moment their eyes met. She had never expected to see him here, oh no, her heart can't seem to stop beating fast. She bit her lower lip as she watched him walking closer to them.
"Nice to see the problematic twins here." Darren said as he patted Sam's shoulder then he smiled at Pam before entering the house.
"Unbelievable!" Sam exclaimed with so much admiration as he began to talk about how he had wanted to buy this exact motorbike but the money with him wasn't enough and how he planned to collect more money from Damon to buy this motorbike. "I can't believe he has the motorbike." He turned to look at Pam when he didn't get any reply from her only to find his sister staring at Darren. He knitted his brow and frowned. "I thought you said you were over him." He spoke in a low monotone.
Pam stopped staring at Darren as she shifted her gaze to her brother. She had also thought she was over him but who would have thought that her crush on him was this deep? Her feelings for him started when she was ten. Uncle Jonathan took them to grey city for the first time and while she was playing hide and seek with her new vampire friends, she got lost and couldn't find her way back home. She was scared that day, it was dark and the place was starting to look creepy. All she could do was pray for Uncle Jonathan to find her and get her out of that horrific place. And then he came, like a knight in shining armor, he saw her in distress and he saved her from that horrific place. That was how her feelings for him probably started, he was nice and friendly to her that she cried the day her Uncle had informed her it was time to leave. After she left grey city, she had never gotten the chance to see him again but he was always in her heart and she believed that one day she would see him again. Who would have thought that one day was today? She finally got to see her first love. "Let's go inside." She said smiling at her brother who just rolled his eyes as they entered the house.
They entered the house and saw their Uncle and the vampire princes laughing, even the poker faced Caesar was laughing? It was a first for them because they had never seen him laugh before including Damon, those two had always kept a poker face.
Mr Jonathan stopped laughing when he saw the kids giving them an awkward look with their eyes wide opened then he saw the plate on Pam's hand. "Why are you holding a plate?" He asked.
His question had brought her back to her senses, she was distracted by her brother's stupid motorbike and her first love that she totally forgot what she was supposed to do. "Margaux has already woken up, i was just about to dish out her food." She answered before rushing to the kitchen.
After serving the food into the plate, she went to the room to give the human girl the food she had just dished out but when she got there, she could not find her on the bed where she was supposed to be. Pam dropped the food and began searching for April. 'Where could she be?' She began to panic when she could not find April. She quickly ran to the living room to inform the others of what was happening.
"There's a problem." She said in a loud voice causing the others to turn to look at her. "The human...she's....she's gone."
