As the first rays of sunlight broke through the treetops, the huddled group of students began to stir. They had spent their first night on the island, all the sector students thrown together by fate.
The air was cool and damp, and the sound of waves crashing against the shore could be heard in the distance. As the students emerged from each other's shoulders, they rubbed their bleary eyes and looked around in confusion, still unsure of their surroundings.
The students had spent a fitful night on the rough ground, struggling to stay warm in the chilly air.
As they stumbled around, still half-asleep, they took stock of their situation. They were stranded on a deserted island, with no means of communication or rescue. They had a few clothes with them and a few things to eat and drink from their bags.
"How's Sara?" Nova asked. "She got scratched by the bats yesterday right?"
"I just dressed her wounds with my handkerchief," Beric stated. "It wasn't serious."
