Charlotte opened her eyes and was set lying on a bed.
'It's bright...'
She perked herself up and looked around the room for details.
Charlotte looked out of the giant glass window in her room and confirmed her suspicion.
'I guess it is set in a futuristic society.'
It seems like she was in a high-rise apartment.
She looked to her left and found a medium-sized bedside table beside the bed.
On the table was a circular holder with a headset, or an item that looked like a headset situated inside of it. It was glowing a light blue color and the circular device was like a mold to perfectly set the headset in.
Charlotte lifted the headset out of the mold and the light diminished. An automated voice came out of the device, "Mobile Headset version 7.0 has been charged 80%."
Slowing her heart from the surprised voice, she fickled with the headset to look for buttons. Her body felt a tingling sensation from her nervous yet excited feeling.
Finding none, she strategically decided to try the headset on later and once again looked around.
Near the gigantic wall window, there was a small robot situated against it.
The robot was relatively small. If compared to a human being, their height would reach around the waist.
The robot had a small head, which was quite cute, and a larger body. Its feet weren't feet-like but had triangular wheels, which Charlotte assumed would be easier for moving around. There were circular holes, which are covered, indicating its currently retracted arm.
Charlotte was curious and left her bed, her feet touched the cold floor as she find her slippers which were left by the bed.
She stood up a bit wobbly and walked towards the robot in her room. As if sensing her presence, its eyes lit up.
Charlotte immediately stops for a bit before hesitantly speaking up, "Hello?"
Its head turned, in a very robotic manner. It was quite bizarre considering the fact that it didn't have a neck.
It looked at Charlotte with its eyes and sounded out a very fluent voice.
"Good morning Ms. Charlotte!"
The voice was strangely cute yet very strange. It was much smoother than the robots of Charlotte's time.
'It feels so... life-like. It's too strange.'
The robot moved its body using the rollers and faced Charlotte. Charlotte stiffen against its movement but it seems like it didn't mind or simply did not care. The robot continued to speak.
"It seems like you are up Ms. Charlotte. You have risen at a much earlier time than usual so please excuse my inactivity. I will put this in my database for future reference."
'It knows my personal information, even my sleep schedule...'
After a few seconds, it then asks, "What would you like for breakfast today?"
Cautiously, Charlotte spoke once more, "Breakfast?"
"Breakfast is the most important meal of the day! You should not miss it!"
'Wow... it can even nag me? Reminds me of Teacher.'
Charlotte composed herself and started to turn the cogs in her brain.
"What should I have this morning?"
"A nutritious breakfast that will provide energy for the day. I recommend consuming a large portion of eggs as it is one of the most nutritious breakfast choices."
"Then, what kind of eggs are available this morning?"
"Please wait a moment... Many people have recommended this frittata as it has been getting very good reviews. We can add a side of French toast and a glass of milk if it is to your liking."
As it lists out the food, a holographic screen appeared in front of her eyes displaying the images corresponding to the food. The images of the food were clear and concise and easy to make out. As if it was a mini presentation, it also accommodated pictures to help with the explanations, including the reviews. However, Charlotte didn't get to properly read them before they switched off. She concluded, "Then, I'll have that."
"Your order has been placed! You will receive it in a few minutes!"
After thanking the robot, it cheerfully left the apartment to wait for the food, or at least that is what it said.
It slid and the automatic door opened and close.
'Robots are now ordering and picking up the food for you? How technology has come so far.'
Taking advantage of her time alone, Charlotte walked out of the bedroom through an automatic sliding door and walked out to the living room.
It was extremely clean, in this apartment, as there has been no dust in sight.
There was a big beige-colored circular fur rug placed on the floor.
The two gray couches were placed adjacent to each other and both faced the wall where a small fireplace was set.
There was a small floating panel near the wall and she came over to inspect it closely.
There was a faint blue light that was creating the blue panel which came from a small black hole in the wall.
Charlotte lighted tapped it and it expanded into a larger screen, displaying many entertainment options.
Charlotte tapped the daily news and a wider screen, as large as the wall appeared and it displayed the latest news.
Despite being caught off guard by the strange yet fascinating technology, Charlotte let the screen play as background noise and continued to inspect the apartment.
There was a small kitchen area, with many gadgets displayed with no sign of them being used.
After fidgeting with them for a bit, Charlotte decides not to touch them any further as she didn't have anything to cook with anyways.
She saw the futuristic household items on the counter and was satisfied.
She then went back to the couch to properly listen to the broadcast but then was startled by the opening automatic door.
It was her robot friend.
'It seems like breakfast has arrived.'
