Children of two feuding emperors fell in love. Their fathers once belonged to the same empire but one of them stole the throne, precipitating a civil war that rendered the empire asunder.
A decree that forbade any contacts between citizens of both empires was enacted. Its contravention was punishable by death. A plot was hatched by the lovebirds to neutralize the decree and force the feuding emperors to reconcile.
But the aggrieved emperor committed suicide rather than forgive the fraudster who, upon hearing the news, suffered a fatal heart attack.
The duo wedded and reunited the empires.
