You're Old

As we were on our way towards college, my mind was elsewhere the whole time. I could feel a light stroke on my cheek and I tilted my head to the side.

Nico cupped my cheek and smiled.

"Is something the matter my love? You look... lost..." He said and I sat up straight, shaking my head and resting it on his shoulder. He held my hand and kissed the top of my head.

"You want to know what she has so badly?"

"My heart."

A smile made its way onto my face as I recalled his words.

"Who's got you smiling like that?" He asked me and I grinned.

"You." He chuckled at my answer.

"Me?"

"Yeah. You." I said and he sighed, stroking my hair. We reached my college shortly and he kissed me goodbye.

Making my way inside the cafeteria after classes, I spotted Sienna at our usual table, and sat down with my lunch, everyone looked at me. Sienna and I talked a bit about each other when she finally asked me about what happened yesterday.

"Well... we fought... had an argument and talked... and then we made up." I told her, shoving a spoon full of pasta in my mouth.

"And he didn't shoot you?" She looked at me shocked and I laughed.

"Why would he shoot me?" I asked and she shrugged.

"I don't know. He's a mafia don." She said and we both erupted into laughter.

"Wait." Sienna suddenly said and looked at my hand, squinting. "Where'd you get that?" She pointed to the ring Nico gave me and I smiled, telling her about the incident this morning and the girl with too much make up.

As usual Sienna couldn't believe her ears when I told her the whole thing in extreme detail. She just nodded her head and listened carefully, often asking questions.

The rest of the day went by smoothly, and I even bumped into dad on the way to a class and said hi to him. He asked me if I had a good time at Sienna's and I frowned but nodded my head the next moment, realizing that's what Ava must've told them.

At 3 pm, I walked out of the college with Sienna, chatting away and when I didn't spot Nico anywhere, we sat on one of the benches while I waited for him.

As we were talking, a group of boys walked towards us. They were Liam's friends, and I also knew a few of them from high school. They all were very popular and the hottest guys in college.

"Yo Winchester! Long time no see." Aiden, a tall and good looking guy with auburn hair put his arms around my shoulder, flashing me a boyish grin.

I knew him well from high school because I used to help him out with some subjects and because he, Liam and I worked together on a project in our final year.

I smiled right back at him.

"Hey Aiden. How are you?" I asked him as the rest of the guys settled around us and some sat on the grass. I noticed one of the guys Emmet and Sienna talking animatedly about something, and she would often blush.

"Oh I'm good. How are you? Haven't seen you for a while." He said and I laughed.

"I'm fine, just a little busy." I told him and he nodded.

"Hey uh, have you seen Liam anywhere? I didn't see him today." He said and I frowned.

"No... I saw him yesterday morning before leaving but not today." I said and he also frowned.

"Huh. That's not like him. Could you give him a call for me? I lost my phone a few days ago." He said and I nodded.

"Yeah sure I'll do that." I told him and he smiled.

"So. We're having a party tonight and wanted to invite you too. At my place, obviously." He said and I grinned.

"Really? I'd love to come!" I said enthusiastically and the boys whooped, making me and Sienna laugh. Just then, a sleek black car along with one in front of it and one behind it parked in front of us.

But we all were too busy laughing to notice the guards step out and open the backseat door, for a man to come out and grow cold at the sight in front of him. In two long strides, he was in front of the laughing crowd, his attention only on his woman.

We heard the clearing of a throat and looked in front of us. A small smile crept on my lips but disappeared when I saw the cold look in his eyes, his gaze burning a hole on the arm around my shoulder.

I quickly shrugged Aiden's arm off and stood up, hoisting my bag over my shoulder and daring to look up into his eyes.

"Nico.." I whispered, although he was barely five feet away from me, I ran to him and hugged him tightly.

His stiff posture relaxed a bit as he rubbed my back and kissed the top of my head as I looked up at him.

"I've been waiting for you for some time now." I said.

"I got stuck in traffic. I'm sorry." He said, warmth in his eyes as he gazed at me and kissed my lips slowly. He put his arm around my waist when he pulled away and I stood beside him looking at the people in front me.

"Nico, these are my friends. Some of them were in high school with me." I said and looked at the guys. "Guys, this is Nico, my boyfriend." He seemed satisfied when I addressed him as my boyfriend because his tense body relaxed a bit.

Aiden came forward and held out his hand.

"Aiden. A good friend of Dove's from high school. It's nice to finally meet the man who captured our pretty girl's heart." He smiled at me and I smiled back, but I felt Nico's arm tighten around me.

"Nicholas King." Nico said and Aiden looked at me surprised then back at him.

"Nicholas King? You mean?" He asked me and I nodded. The guys behind him averted their gazes and Sienna came to me.

"Oh, and this is Sienna. But you already met her yesterday." I said and Sienna smiled at him.

"Good to finally meet you Mr. King. I've heard a lot about you from Dove. Too much actually, she doesn't shut up." She said and I glared at her playfully while Nico chuckled and kissed my head.

"We should go." I said smiling sheepishly and dragged him back to his car, waving at the guys.

"You are coming tonight right Winchester?" Aiden shouted from behind.

"Yeah I'll be there!" I shouted back and he gave me a thumbs up before leaving.

When we sat in the car, Nico looked at me with a smirk.

"Spit it out." I said, looking outside and he chuckled.

"So you talk about me huh?" He said and I sighed.

"I'm not getting out of this, am I?" I asked him sighing and he grinned at me.

"Never." He said. "So where are you going tonight?" He asked me and I looked at him again.

"Oh. There's a party tonight at Aiden's place and he invited me over." I said and he thought for a moment.

"Okay. I'll pick you up." He said and I frowned.

"No. You aren't coming." I said and he furrowed his eyebrows.

"Why not?"

"Because it's a college party."

"So?" He asked me raising his eyebrow.

"You're not in college! You're too old for that!" I said and he frowned this time.

"I'm not old. I'm 27." He said and I shook my head.

"You're old. You're basically what they call an elder."

"No."

"Yes."

"No."

"Ugh okay fine!" I said throwing my hands up.

"I'm coming with or you're not going." He gave me look that told me there was no use arguing with him. I crossed my arms over my chest and looked out and saw we had reached my house.

"Fine." I told him, grabbing my bag and phone. "Dress causal. Be here at 7." I told him and he nodded before pulling me towards him as I opened the car door.

"What? No kiss for me?" He said and I pulled away from him and stepped out of the car.

"You don't get one. Deal with it." I said and slammed the door shut, walking towards my house. I rang the bell and went inside when Cole opened it and heard the cars drive off.

When I went inside the living room and plopped down on the couch, Ava, Abby, Cole and Dan all looked at me suspiciously.

"I can't deal with this right now." I said and went upstairs, closing my room's door and fell onto the bed after putting my phone on silent and before I knew it, I was asleep.

Who knew love could be so exhausting?
