Duel proposal

William wondered who was this sh*t who sullied the honor of his family name. He could not recognize him. Probably just a lowborn clown who felt entitled right after admitting to this academy. Along with his two other friends, they walked in a heavy gait towards Cross.

Seeing that, "Let's go Naomi. We can't associate with him anymore. He's finished," said Rebecca as she hastily pulled Naomi with her. They left Cross' table.

"….."

Cross was at a loss for words.

The whole cafeteria immediately turned dead silent when William's footsteps were heard pitter-pattering on the smooth white tiles of the cafeteria interior.

Arriving in front of Cross, William directly yanked Cross' collar. Cross was surprised by it. "You! What did you say?" William asked as he showed a smile, but his smile was somewhat forced.

Even Cross could tell that he wasn't smiling deep inside.

From that question, he could feel a heavy feeling of anger emanating behind it. William was looking at Cross as if looking at someone inferior to him.

"He's finished."

"The freak is finished."

"That freak just angered one of the candidates to become an Elite Mech Pilot. He's so dead."

Other students around started mumbling those words.

"Freak?" William, who heard that, suddenly asked.

"Oh, an acquaintance of mine told me about a freak transfer student a while ago. Maybe he's that person she mentioned. Fufu," one of William's friends said with a chuckle. The guy had spiky grey hair and a pair of purple eyes.

"I see… no wonder I didn't remember seeing his face," another of William's friends said. This guy had parted medium-length purple hair. He was wearing eyeglasses. The glass's purpose was just to help him look more intellectual.

"So he's an ignorant transfer student who didn't know when to bark," William said coldly with his eyes never left at Cross.

One of the students around came forward. Cross remembered the student, he was in his class a while ago.

A plump-looking student with short brown hair suddenly came forward. William and his friends raised a brow. "My name is Mac Leody. I am in D-class like that freak. Although it's a shame that I'm in D-class, it's more embarrassing to be in the same class as that freak. What I wanted to say is that that person is a manaless and has the lowest academic scores."

"What? Manaless? Damn! With that score, even piloting an agricultural mech is impossible for him. Hahaha! How did he get here though?" Laughed the grey-haired friend of William.

"I think I just heard the most hilarious thing today. Hahaha!" His other friend also laughed while holding his stomach.

Hearing that, William looked at Cross as if he was a sh*t.

"Why did the academy approve admitting this guy here? This is so dishonoring in our prestigious academy!" William said coldly before he directed his attention again at Cross who was still in his yank.

"Right. How did the academy allow someone like him in this academy?" The other student around started to wonder as well.

William quickly released him. "He's not even worth my spit. This sh*t is a total embarrassment. I will appeal to the headmaster to kick this sh*t out of this academy."

Cai looked at them in silence. She disliked both William's arrogance and the transferee's ignorance. She already lost her appetite with Noir's intervention and more on after William's appearance. And with the new development of the current event, it was just a waste of time staying there.

However before Cai could leave, Cross opened his mouth once again bewildered all the students around. She included.

"Fellow student, William Sanport, why are you suddenly attacking me?"

Even with such pressure around him, Cross' voice was calm. He was confused why William suddenly became angry at him and yanked his collar for no clear reason. Perhaps he said something wrong. But what could it be? Rebecca and Naomi didn't clarify it.

"S-Sanport…?" William once again looked like he wanted to swallow this trash in front of him. "You're begging to die?" He asked coldly.

He thought Cross was doing it on purpose.

"….."

Cross' mouth becomes a short horizontal line.

Rebecca shook her head. This Cross is truly stupid. Why did he have to say that again? she thought.

With a speed that was impossible for ordinary humans to follow, William yanked him again and raised a fist in the air. He was about to launch a punch at him but was interrupted by Mac Leody.

"Wait, fellow student William, sir!"

"This sh*t! You want to die as well?" William shot a furious glare at Mac Leody for interrupting him.

Looking at William's expression, Mac Leody felt like he was about to faint from fright. All the fats in his body were trembling.

"Uh… I mean. I-It's not worth dirtying your hand with that sh*t. Let me be the one to punish him for you. If you don't mind, I require a duel with him. D-Don't worry, I'll make sure to embarrass him until he has no more face to show here again the next day," Mac Leody said, quivering.

The purple-haired friend of William whispered something in his ear.

"I think the fatty is right, William. Also, there are surveillance cameras everywhere in this place. It's not a good choice to use your own hands to beat trash like him. It will only have a bad effect on your family's honor."

"Andy is right, William. Also, those two Blue Delta descendants are watching you right now. Let the fatty do it for you. Besides, a sh*t is worth another sh*t."

William gritted his teeth before releasing Cross from his claw.

"You bast*rd! You have the guts to disrespect William, the future elite of this country. Now, take this! Be a man and face me in a duel!" Mac Leody threw a handkerchief at Cross. It landed on his face.

"Wow! A direct duel proposal!"

"Hitting the face of a fellow student with a handkerchief is the highest form of duel proposal. Declining it is equivalent to leaving this academy and shaming your family's honor."

"In that case, the freak had only one option."

"Right! Whether he accepted it or not, he's still bound to leave this academy sooner or later."

"Go! Fatty! Shame the freak!"

"My bet is on you fatty! Don't disappoint me!"

The surrounding students started giving their comments and gave their support to Fatty.

Cross glanced at the handkerchief that was leaning over his shoulder after it fell there from his face. Everyone was looking at him, waiting for his reply.

Cai and Noir also stopped themselves from leaving the cafeteria. Cai wasn't actually anticipating anything from this transferee. It only piqued her interest. Although he probably wasn't aware of it, this guy still managed to embarrass William, a young man from the clan of Red Beta. It was a clan that had equal power and authority with their Blue Delta. And he was also a talented person who was said to have 98 mana scores. With such high mana scores, his potential was vast.

Seeing William in such a furious state was truly a sight they didn't want to miss seeing. Contrary to Cai, Noir's reason for not leaving yet was purely due to curiosity. She was curious about this hilarious newbie.

However, everyone was dumbfounded by Cross' reply.

"Haha. Fellow students, my stomach is hurt right now. I think I need to refuse the duel. I need to go to the infirmary."

For real?!!!

All students around could not believe him. They suspected Cross was just using it as an excuse.

"He had no balls!" Someone screamed.

"This guy is shameless!"

"Well, let's see if he truly has a stomachache."
