Uh_Oh

That was when my heart freezed my body became cold and stiff I could feel my blood stopp flowing. I can't face Alex's interrogation, I can't face the embarrassment. He would feel I've been stalking him.

 I just closed my eyes and slowly turned to see the person that called out my name

"What are you guys doing here?" Rotimi asked as he removed his EarPods and put his phone in his back pocket.

 "It wasn't him! It wasn't him!!!" I was screaming with joyous joy in my heart . My heart was limping for joy but at the same time I wished it was Alex who walked up to us

"Well, we are just walking around our neighbourhood, got a problem with that?" Simi said with her hands around her waist giving attitude.

" No, it's just that I've never seen you guys around here"

"Do you follow us every where we go?" I added

" No but..."

"So how would you know if we never come here"

"But..."

We didn't let him have a say, we couldn't let him know what we're up to

"Rotimi leave us in peace, we were about to leave now you've wasted our time, Let's go simi"

 Before we went i peeped to check if Alex was still at the store and he wasn't so I grabbed simi's hand and pulled her with me, I walked as fast as I could before Alex could come out of nowhere. I can't survive another heart freeze.

 I didn't take any breaks or pause while walking until we got to my street, i won't take any chances of Alex spotting me in his neighborhood cause i just had a narrow escape. We got to my street then I stopped walking.

I and Simi were panting "Phew!" 

 "And why were you rushing? You know il not built for exercise " Simi asked with a frown on her face

 "Did you see a ghost or bandit?"she added

 "I didn't want Alex to spot us there" I replied still trying to catch my breath

 "So?What if he sees us there that will even be better, we came to see him didn't we?" Simi was at it again. Sometimes I wonder how this girl became my friend cause how is she not understanding my situation!

 "Argh Sims, why don't you want to understand? We don't know this nigga!"

 "Then make me understand Are you in lo..."

I interrupted her before she could complete her statement

 "No gross, I'm not, is it bad to check up on a Friend?"

 Simi raised an eyebrow "but you said you guys aren't friends so why the sudden claim of friendship?"

 "Can we go now?" I was fed up of her questions and her intentional refusal to understand me.

 "Stop ignoring my questions"

 I started walking alone and pretended not to hear Anything she was saying

 "What? I can't hear you"

 "You! Wait for me" Simi yelled and then ran after me

 I got home, it was six in the evening so Simi didn't come in cause it was already late, she went home which was two streets before mine

 "I'm home!" I said out cause I expected my mum be home.

 "Mommy!" I yelled this time around cause she could be somewhere on her headphones

 Still nobody answered so I took my phone from my back pocket and dialled my mum

 "Hey baby girl"

 "Good evening mum, you aren't home yet?"

 "Yeah, I'll not be home today, I'll come tomorrow morning. I'm out with my friends"

 "Ooohh, have fun then"

 "Good night baby and don't wake up late for school, I've made your food for school already its in the fridge, you just have to microwave it"

 "Alright mum"

 "And make sure you do the chores before you leave for school and I'll be back before evening "

 "Okay mum"

 "Good night baby"

 "Goodnight mum" I ended the call

 Another lonely night, my brothers Daniel and Melvin are in the University, while my younger brother Henry stays with my dad in IMO. No, my parents are not divorced, neither are they separated. They met here in Lagos and bought this Bungalow here but my dad got transferred to IMO, where he was born but my mum remained here in Lagos cause this is her permanent working place . My dad works in IMO while my mum works here in Lagos,my younger brother Henry stays with him there and I don't know why but I decided to stay here in Lagos cause I love Lagos. I was born here, my friends live here. Lagos is practically my home.

 A smile curved on my face, I was so grateful that Alex was okay but if he was okay why hasn't he been in school for the past three days?

 "Oh well, at least he's fine, I just hope he comes to school tomorrow"

 I had some cereals and watched TV for two hours, it was sponge Bob. I love that cartoon a lot but I find Patrick very annoying, like, how can some body, oh wait he's not a somebody, how can something be so dumb and stupid? Well, he's a starfish and I read that Star fish's have no brain. I still watch it anyway.

 I went to bed by 9pm after replying some messages on WhatsApp. I could've texted longer but I felt exhausted. So I switched off the lights and closed my eyes and said hi to Dreamland.
