The cock crowed and I opened my eyes. Don't mind me we don't have any poultry in our neighbourhood and the cock I was referring to was my alarm clock, that stuff is very loud and I only use it when my mum stays out all night, she's my personal alarm clock,I love you mummy.

 I had no choice but to wake up by 6 am to do my chores, I just swept and mopped the house, cleaned the chairs,TV, TV shelve and the dinning table. I brought out the food from the fridge, it was Fried rice. My favorite food with a huge chicken lap on top.

 "Hmm, nice peace offering mom" I said to myself

She made this to make up for not being home last night, she doesn't usually do this but only when she's not been home for three nights in a week and this was the third night she hasn't been home this week.

With all the stress she goes through she still doesn't loose weight and here I was loosing weight just from school stress. She does her best to make sure I have everything I wanted and needed, she made sure to play the role of my father anytime he wasn't around, she's the best. Mothers are heroes!.

 I put the food in the micro wave and went upstairs to prepare my bath. I came back downstairs and the food was done, I put it in my flask and went upstairs to have my bath. I didn't stay too long in the bath, I had set my uniform already so I just put it on, went down stairs picked my food and set out for school.

 "Hey you bratty brat!" I heard someone yell as I crossed the school gate.

 "Not today, just not today" I murmured. This girl just has the habit of ruining my day before it starts.

 "You're in school early today, how strange" Ebube said as she walked up to me.

 "I always come to school early Senior Ebube"

 "Do you?"

 "Why do you always bother this girl Ebube?"Rotimi yelled out as he ran towards our direction.

 "Cause she's a sneaky rat" Ebube said gazing at Rotimi

 "Or you feel intimidated by her cause she's smart and beautiful and way above your standards?"

 "Stop poking your nose in things that don't concern you Timi" Ebube was beginning to get irritated.

 "And stop being a bully to your juniors Ebube" Rotimi said with a smirk on his face signaling for here to leave.

 "You're so annoying" she said and left.

Rotimi always has a way of saving me from Ebube anytime she wants to prey on me. I don't know what I've done to her but sometimes I like the way she taunts me, it makes me feel special, yeah, cause only special people get taunted.

 "Thank you Senior Rotimi" I said appreciated him and was about to leave but he blocked my way

 "Hey! No, I told you to stop calling me 'Senior' right?"

 "Oh sorry, thank you Rotimi" I added and He smiled

 "That's more like it" 

 I was starting to feel uncomfortable around Timi these days. He's giving me a different vibe from the ones he used to show.

I feel it's the type of vibe you give someone when you don't want to be in the friend zone.

No, never, not I and rotimi, he's like my big brother in school. He shouldn't be feeling something else but 'sister-ship' if there's anything like that.

 "Besides you guys haven't told me what you really went to that street for" He began gazing at me

 "Must I tell you everything I do?" I had to be defensive.

 "No but, its somewhere I've never seen you in before"

Rotimi was starting to irritate me, must he know the reason for everything I do or was he insecure that I went there because of that Alex. No, what am i thinking? He doesn't know what I feel for him, not as if I feel anything for him.

 "Whatever I did or do is none of your business" I said and left him, full of rage. I was so angry that I kept bumping into people, and lucky me I didn't bump into any teacher.

I was looking down cause I didn't want anybody to notice my anger but then I met someone at the stairs. When I tried to dodge him, cause I saw male shoes on the person. I moved left, he also did the same, I moved right but he also did. I've seen this happen a lot but mostly in movies, its either he was being intentional or this was just a coincidence. I moved towards the right again but he also did the same, this time I had to look up at the person cause I was already angry and I could release my anger on him. So I looked up and...

 IT WAS ALEX!

 My eyes just widened, I stood still, heart rapidly beating, my body became cold but I was sweating. I tried to talk, I opened my mouth but nothing came out.

 "I saw you" he said with a smirk and left.

 Oh My Father! My entire system just shut down. He saw me!!! Why? how?

I had a feeling he saw us but I didn't heed to my conscience cause I was sure I escaped that situation from happening.

 "He's forever going to mark me" I whispered. This was so wrong, I did everything to make sure he didn't spot me.

I was crying inside, I never expected this to happen. Since this guy came into this school he's just been giving me headache and high blood pressure.

"I hate this guy! My life in this school is going to be tough until he graduates."

 " Agh that's a long time to come"

 I climbed up the stairs, I was stumping cause the anger I feel right now, could collapse the entire school if I punched the walls.

 I didn't pay attention in class, I didn't talk to any one, I didn't go for break, I didn't even move from my seat, I just felt like my life had become a mess because of a guy who isn't even going through whatever I'm feeling right now. He's in his class probably laughing and mingling and smiling. I hate that guy. I've been in class for the whole day and Simi didn't even come and check up on me, not even once. Wow even my Best friend is there flexing and I'm over here perishing in loneliness, anger and hatred.

 "Hilda, are you okay?"

 Finally! somebody cares 

 "Temi? Yeah I'm fine, what are you doing here?" I didn't expect to see him here

 " Well, I came looking for sims" 

 "She's not with you?" I was surprised

 "And she's not with you either" He was suprised too

 "Then where is she?" I asked Temi, I thought she was with him all day that's why she hasn't had time for me. 

 "Maybe she's downstairs with the rest of my class mates" I added cause Simi doesn't really mingle with other students

 "Yeah, I think so too but, are you sure you're okay? You're alone, should I keep you company or call Rotimi"

 "No, that won't be necessary, I'm perfectly fine. Sometimes its best to be alone" I gave a forced smile

 "That's true. I've never had an alone time with myself though, I'm either with the guys or at work and when I come back it's late and I'm already tired so I just sleep off most times without eating"

 "But I don't get why you work, its not as if you're from a poor family or something"

 "Yeah I know but I like to work and I hate to always have to ask my parents for money before i can get something for my self. You know how it is to ask something from parents right?" Temi was Rich like rich rich. His parents are rarely around but he doesn't throw bizzare parties or go out much. He's the most reserved and calm wealthy person I know.

 "Yup "

 "A lot of questions and reasons you'll have to give them"

 "What do you need it for? Why do you want it now" I mimicked parents any time you asked some thing from them.

 "So you see? It feels good to get what you want, anytime you want, with your own hard earned money"

 'It feels very good" I agreed cause yeah I love to purchase what I want when i want.

 "" Yup and whatever that's bothering you and you dont want to tell me shouldn't keep you away from having fun, just live like nothing happened, okay?"

 I smiled "Yeah, thank you very much Temi" 

 "Take care of yourself okay? Bye" 

 "Bye"

Whatever he said relieved me. He was very right, I shouldn't be torturing myself while others are out there having the time of their lives, I'm gonna step up and live this life like its just for me.

 The rest of the day went well for me cause I decided to hold on to what Temi told me. Its not time to be dulling, I need to be happy for me and show other people that no matter what they do to me, it won't affect me. I also didn't bother to ask Simi where she was cause I don't care anymore. I'll stick to whoever sticks to me".

 I was on my way home when somebody was calling on me, sounded like simi's voice though, I didn't turn back but I stopped walking and slightly looked back.

 "Wassup? why didn't you wait for me?" simi asked. How could she possibly have the guts to ask me that question

 "Well, you were nowhere to he found so I headed home" 

 "I'm so sorry, I was busy with something I forgot to tell you"

 "Next time you will be late, let me know so I'll either wait or go without you. okay?"

 "Okay, I'm sorry, let's go home"

 I really wanted to know where she was. She wasn't with Temi then who would she be with. During the break she wasn't with him and wasn't with him after closing either. Well she never really liked Temi so I ain't surprised with her behaviour towards him but he's a very nice guy, nicer than Rotimi.

 Unbothered, hungry and stressed out, I crashed the moment I got to my room and put down my bag. I'm too young to be worrying about things like this, I'm not even in a relationship to be going through all these drama and over thinking. That's why I've never been in a relationship before, its just like being married, endless arguments, nagging and no peace of mind. He was supposed to bring peace in my life, its supposed to be just like a high school movie, love at first sight, bumping into each other, confessing each other's feelings, start a relationship then a song at the end; but whatever Alex is nothing less than a high blood pressure.
