Sophia stepped into Maxie's office, eager to report the latest news. As the Chief Marketing Officer of Portal Food Supplies, Sophia was responsible for monitoring their online presence and tracking their popularity on social media.
"Maxie, I have some exciting news," Sophia began. "Our popularity on social media has been increasing rapidly. People are talking about us, and it's creating a buzz. Our marketing strategy is really paying off."
Maxie nodded, a small smile playing at the corners of her lips. "That's great to hear, Sophia," she said. "But I have some news of my own. We'll be cutting ties with CyberEats."
Sophia's eyes widened in surprise. "Really? Why would we do that?" she asked.
"It was always the plan," Maxie explained. "Alex partnered with CyberEats when no one else would, but now we have a reputation. We're no longer the little start-up that nobody knows. We're a major player in the food industry, and it's time we started acting like one."
Sophia understood the reasoning, but she couldn't help feeling a twinge of disappointment. "But what about the profits we've been making from our partnership with CyberEats?" she asked.
"We'll find other ways to increase our profits," Maxie replied with confidence. "It's time for us to spread our wings and fly solo. Trust me, this is for the best."
Sophia nodded, taking in the information. She knew that Maxie had the company's best interests at heart, and she was eager to see what the future held for Portal Food Supplies. Suddenly the phone in the office rang.
Maxie picked up her phone, her brow furrowed with worry. "ok, I will see you in my office," she said tersely into the receiver.
A few moments later, Janson, the lead of the HR team, appeared at the door, a worried look on his face. "Maxie, Sophia, we have a problem," he said, his voice trembling slightly. "Eight of our employees have been poached by Tronc Mart, and we think they might have leaked sensitive information about the company."
Maxie's eyes narrowed, her expression becoming stern. "Thank you for bringing this to our attention, Janson. I want you to start an investigation immediately and find out exactly what information was leaked."
Sophia interjected, her concern evident in her voice. "What do you think Tronc Mart is after? Do you think they know about the battery technology?"
Maxie shook her head. "I don't think it's just the battery technology they're after. They've been trying to poach our employees for a while now. It's only a matter of time before they found out who the owner of Portal is. That's why Alex revealed himself. He knew that sooner or later, the information would have been leaked by these traitor employees."
Janson nodded, his expression grim. "I'll get on it right away. We need to find out what information has been leaked and plug the hole before it's too late."
With a final nod, Janson turned and left the room, his mind already focused on the task at hand. Maxie and Sophia looked at each other, both knowing that the stakes were high and the consequences could be dire if they didn't act fast.
Maxie leaned back in her chair, a determined look in her eyes. She turned to Sophia, who was still standing by the door, her expression one of concern.
"Sophia," Maxie began, her voice firm and unwavering, "we need to take matters into our own hands. Janson just told us that eight of our employees have been poached by Tronc Mart. Who knows what information they might have leaked about our company."
Sophia's eyes grew wide with alarm. "What can we do about it?" she asked.
"We need to hire keyboard warriors," Maxie said, "to spread rumors about where we get our food products. Alex never told anyone about the source of our products, so there's no way that these traitor employees would know. But I want to prevent the information from leaking if it ever happens. So, I want to create fake rumors about the sources. That way, if anyone ever finds out about the real source, they will still doubt it."
Sophia nodded, understanding the plan. "I'll get right on it," she said, before turning and leaving the office.
Maxie sat down in front of her computer and opened her email. She scrolled through the various messages, until she came across one from Rina, the personal assistant of the CEO of Tronc Co. Maxie's eyes narrowed as she read the invitation for dinner with the CEO of Tronc, and the request for her to attend as well.
She leaned back in her chair, her mind racing. Maxie was well aware of the tumultuous relationship between Alex and Alan, the CEO of Tronc. She had no doubt that Alex would decline such an invitation, but she still forwarded the email to him nonetheless.
As she sat there, lost in thought, Maxie couldn't shake the feeling that something sinister was afoot. She had been in the business world long enough to know that invitations like this never came without an ulterior motive. She made a mental note to keep a close eye on the situation and be prepared for anything.
In the meantime, she would do her best to keep Portal Food Supplies running smoothly.

Alex was engrossed in the game of Life and Land when his phone chimed with an incoming email. He rubbed his eyes, trying to break free from the spell of the game, and opened the email to find a message from Maxie, the CEO of Portal Food Supplies. It was an invitation to a dinner with Alan, the CEO of Tronc Co. Alex rolled his eyes at the thought of having to spend time with his father's murders. But as he read through the email, his attention was caught by a line that read, "We can discuss trading Life and Land game with Portal at the dinner." Alex's heart raced. No one knew it, but the game of Life and Land was the source of their food products. If Tronc was willing to trade, he knew he had to at least take the risk.
Alex knew that this invitation was probably a trap, but he decided to reply and accept it anyway. After all, the opportunity to secure the source of their products was too important to pass up. He quickly drafted a reply, his fingers flying across the keyboard as he wrote, "Thank you for the invitation. I look forward to the opportunity to discuss the future of Life and Land and how it can benefit both of our companies." With a deep breath, Alex hit the send button and leaned back in his chair, already anticipating the challenges that lay ahead.
Despite his reservations, Alex knew that this dinner held great potential. He also knew that he would have to be cautious and prepared for anything that Alan might throw his way. But he was ready for the challenge. He was determined to protect the source of Portal's products, no matter what it took. And with that, Alex returned to the game of Life and Land, his mind already turning to the strategies he would need to succeed in the meeting to come.
