Sparring Matches

Edwin and Gil Traumm proceeded with their battle as they exchanged moves and spells with each other. Edwin cast a barrage of wind spells while his spirit summon, the underworld cat, harassed Gil with its sheer speed.

Gil Traumm, on the other hand, took on the defensive stance with a sword in his hands and firmly stood his ground. His sword skills amazed the audience and even earned Isabel's praise.

With a sword in his hand, he took on Edwin's barrage of attacks without a single scratch on his body. Even the Underworld cat's harassment was of no use as Gil skillfully swung his sword to defend.

In the end, Edwin exhausted his mana and unsummoned the underworld cat, ending in Gil's victory.

The succeeding battles were not as amazing as the first one but each of them did their best to show off their might. The most interesting match was between the Light and Darkness twins.

They unleashed a barrage of Light and Darkness spells against each other and held their ground. Even with different elements, their battle style was almost identical. They cast spells at the same time with neither gaining the upper hand.

Their battle lasted for a while until they both exhausted their mana, ending in a draw. With equal battle prowess, their battle ended up to be the most interesting and intense battle.

Luke Walkman ended up being matched against Lyon Moria. Luke taunted Lyon with words and mockery and bragged about his status as a noble's son.

When their battle started, Luke unleashed a barrage of fire spells while Lyon just dodged his attacks.

Funnily enough, their battle ended the fastest with Lyon instantly knocking him out with just one move. Lyon coated his fist with lightning as he rushed forward and punched Lyon's face without him being able to react.

Luke fell unconscious with his face swollen.

Although Luke ended up with a humiliating defeat, he wasn't weak either. It was just that he was careless and arrogant. Furthermore, Lyon was also monstrously strong.

Lyon then looked at Isabel and winked at her in a flirty manner. To his disappointment, Isabel was indifferent and quickly proceeded with the next match.

Finally, it was Rick's turn to battle.

"Danny White and Rick, step forward" Isabel said as she turned to look at Rick and Danny's figures.

Rick and Danny then stepped forward at the same time and faced off with each other.

"No matter who wins and loses, no hard feelings okay? Let's stay friends afterwards" Rick said with a polite smile as he looked at Danny.

"Cheh, who's your friend? You are only an acquaintance at best... You better not hold back" Danny retorted as he touched his glasses.

"Alright then" Rick replied with a smile.

"Begin!" Isabel announced the start of the battle.

"[Wind Rush]"

Rick raised his right hand forward as a gust of strong wind rushed forward in Danny's direction.

Meanwhile, Danny stripped off his top uniform, showing off bulky muscles on his arms, chest, and stomach. He then touched his glasses coolly before he raised his hands forward in a defensive stance.

Rick was taken aback with his eyes widened as he looked at Danny's figure. He didn't expect him to be the muscular type of guy. His impression of him was that he was the strategic and fundamental type of mage with his nerdy bangs.

"[Kraken's Rage]"

Eight tentacles made of water appeared out of thin air in front of Danny. He then swung his muscular arms while the water tentacles swung against the gust of wind, forcefully dissipating it.

Once more, Rick was taken aback by how easily and fluidly Danny dealt with his spell.

When Danny took off his uniform and showed off his muscles, coupled with his defensive stance, he gave off the impression of a tough and direct fighting style.

He then proved them wrong by exhibiting a flexible and fluid movements and battle style with his element.

"You sure have a weird battle style" Rick commented.

"As long as it works, then it's not wrong" Danny replied as he coolly touched his glasses.

"[Wind Breakthrough]"

"[Wind Slash]"

Rick then rushed forward at breakneck speed and immediately let out slashes of sharp wind on Danny's direction.

"[Kraken's Rage]"

Danny once more skillfully dissipated the slashes of wind with water tentacles. When Rick closed in on Danny, he hurriedly let out a punch enhanced with [Wind Breakthrough].

Rick's punch almost landed but Danny used the water tentacles to reduce the force of Rick's punch. At this moment, Rick's fist just right in front of Danny's smug face.

Rick's lips suddenly curled up to a lopsided smirk.

"[Wind Gust]"

At point blank range, Rick fired a gust of wind. Danny hurriedly tried to block it with water tentacles but the gust of wind sent him flying backwards.

However, he was still able to stabilize his footing with the help of water tentacles. Afterwards, he then slammed the water tentacles to the ground and rushed forward at lightning speed.

This time, it's Danny's turn to be on the offensive as he closed in on Rick and swung the tentacles to Rick's direction. It wasn't only the tentacles that threatened to attack Rick, Danny himself was also launching attacks with his fist and kicks.

Rick skillfully dodged Danny's barrage of attacks and leaped backwards to gain distance while Danny charge forward to force a close combat.

"[Wind Gust]"

Rick then fired out a gust of wind to slow down Danny's charge but the water tentacles deflected the [Wind Gust] as Danny continued his charge.

Seeing that he can't shake Danny off, he made a split-second decision and launched himself in the air with [Wind Breakthrough].

"Now, you can't escape." Danny said with a smug expression on his face as he readied the water tentacles to attack Rick the moment he landed on the ground.

"You're not sure yet" Rick replied as his lips curled up to a lopsided smirk.

He then aimed both his palms down in Danny's direction. Rick cast a spell similar to [Wind Gust] but this time, he poured more mana into this spell to generate a stronger gust of wind.

[Wind Gust] is a common wind spell that generates a gust of wind from the user's palms. However, the wind generated is only usually enough to send a normal mage flying backwards.

Mages could pour more mana into the spell to generate a stronger force of wind but the spell would send the user backwards instead of the target.

However, now that Rick was in mid-air and he's aiming it on the ground, he didn't have this worry. Even if he gets pushed backward, he can only gain altitude and doesn't have to worry about stabilizing his footing and hitting anything backwards since there's nothing but air from behind.
