Blood Moon

Synge's voice got thinner and disappeared. My vision came back as black space around me dissipated slowly.

"Alene! Are you alright?" Frank called me holding in his arms.

"What happened to me?" I mumbled.

I looked around and I was lying on the sofa in the living room.

"You suddenly fell to the ground. You are fine right?" Douard said worried.

"Frank… are you also sensing what I'm sensing from Alene." Ned said.

"what?" Frank said surprised.

"Her wolf! what is this?" Betty said, shocked.

Jake turned to me and gasped as he felt my wolf. It was stronger than his. Reaction on his face clear as crystal made others confused.

"How powerful!" Betty came near and carefully observed me.

"Her vampire scent has also gone." Ned said.

"Thank god! Now there is no problem with her staying here because she is now a werewolf. But how did this happen so suddenly?" Douard exclaimed.

Martha closed in on me from the crowd.

"Blood Moon!"

What she said shocked everyone, especially Douard.

"What??!"

Synge too had said that. I didn't know what it meant completely. Synge only said it is powerful and uncontrollable.

"what does it mean?" I asked, perplexed.

"You are blessed by 'Goddess of Red Moon'.But how can you be this powerful when you can't even call your wolf out." Martha said.

Jake bit his lips and turned away. He was not happy even when I am not now a vampire.

"Synge! My wolf is Synge." I said.

"Synge! How did you know it's name?" Ned asked.

"It talked to me, maybe that's when I fell on the ground."

"How? The wolf doesn't talk to us. They only respond accordingly." Betty said.

"Maybe it is because she is marked by goddess." Martha said.

"What do we do now?" Frank said.

"It calls for celebration, right?" Douard said excitedly.

Sudden arrival of Synge and it's talking to me, even before my 18th birthday, which is marked as a focal point in my life. Whether I live or die will be decided on that very day.

Whole morning passed with commotion relating to me and after I woke up the series of secrets and shock baffled everyone. Anyone would feel disturbed about a fight which barely happened in a pack, started after my arrival.

But I was happy that from now on no fight will emerge about me being a vampire or sort of. At least it will go that way. I hoped.

After the morning meal, youngsters joined the academy and I had no work to do so I strolled around. Douard was busy organizing schedules for us. 'He is working very hard.' I thought.

"What are you doing?" Frank's sudden call from behind threw me off my focus.

"Whoa! You scared me there. Why would you sneak up on someone like this?" I said.

"I walked with loud noises to you. I even called you a few times but didn't answer." He said.

'What? Was I lost in thought that much?' I thought.

"Okay Okay. Why did you come to me this time? Thought you must be busy, no?" I said.

"Well! Work is managed almost. I was thinking about something lately."

"What?!" I asked curious.

"That. When will we marry?" He giggled.

"Again!" I said.

He punned me for anything, literally anytime. I thought it must be something important, but he teases me like nothing's happening around.

"We'll see." I pouted and turned away.

He grabbed me from behind.

"Miss Luna, my mate. Won't you marry me?" He whispered.

His scent as intoxicating as ever blew my heart away and in his warm embrace, I got dissolved.

"Some might be against that, you know." As I snuggled, I said.

"They won't oppose any further." Frank said.

His face changed as he said that. He didn't like to have his pack broken to pieces. If enemies attack when the pack is most unstable, defeat is guaranteed.

I didn't like to pry in further.

'Time will solve everything.' I thought.

"Martha and Betty had gone to ruin earlier with Ned and Douard. They will find more about your seal. If your body still has leftover vampire, it is best to do it soon." He said.

His voice is always calming and assuring. It feels like he is born-leader and also a capable and trustworthy partner.

"Is it still necessary?" I said.

"Yes. For maintaining order and clearing any left misunderstanding. But I am very happy that your wolf came to you at the right time and saved us from further fights."

He still felt bad that beta members who are excellent fighters and aid of the pack are becoming rebellious. Division of the pack is what he fears most.

"You are strong and I believe in you." I said looking in his eyes.

Suddenly I felt a growl from within. 'Synge!'

My wolf reacted to something. 'But what?' I looked around. 'There is no one here.' I mumbled.

"What is it?" Frank asked.

"Synge reacted or what I don't know but I felt something creepy around." I said.

Frank looked around and sniffed air. His face changed as he noticed something dangerous.
