Rituals 2

While turning back to my usual form, I looked at Frank for an answer.

He too had his face painted with shock.

I sat down with the thoughts of my unbecoming self and didn't quite find myself calm. With a worried look prevailing onto my face, I was about to burst in tears but Douard said an exciting thing to me.

"Alene! I took care of you. And just not because it threw you into despair. You have a greater cause for your existence. You will become the one to end this war forever."

His words, though didn't get inside my head, I felt calm and what he spoke next actually were going to be true.

"But you will have to abandon one of your loved ones. And you did." He said.

'Liar! You don't know how it feels to be alone and mocked… haa! Let it be.'

My thoughts bulged inside only to fizzle out soon.

"Mother! You still have that seal and curse inside left over due to your wolf's influence. Matilda on the other hand is still within you, bound to you. Her power and your blood creates a destructive force called 'Blood Moon'. That is even rare and extinct among royal vampires."

Emma added with a worried face.

"But if you can't control this power, you won't stay sane and will kill anyone in front."

But it didn't stop there.

"Before Matilda had to sacrifice herself in vain, She had ordered me to find a hybrid and bring it to the place of seal. And it became easy when Emerald gave me her child and left without any obstacle behind."

Douard said and his face soaked in guilt even more.

I couldn't think straight and just looked at him without an expression and word.

"And there came the day I met Ned accidentally and found out about Frank. When Ned said to me that he was a sacrificial wolf for ending the war. It looked easy but as time passed, everything fell a bit off. Alene, who was supposed to kill Frank, fell in love with him."

It gave me an unexpected shock and meaninglessness to my life.

I was the only war material saved right from the start.

"But…"

"Yes!. I apologize. I lied to you before. I don't know if you will forgive me or not but everything which happened until now was more or less planned and precisely calculated."

Douard cut me off.

Frank and I, who thought of solving the problem and living happily ever after, got shattered upon hearing such words.

Frank, who thought of becoming the one to save everyone from war and imprint his name on history, got plunged into the abyss of betrayal.

"Okay! Then am I too an object caressed until now or what?!"

Betty stood up shouting and asked a question which quieted others down.

All the faith built up until now, got demolished.

There seemed to be no hope for us to live anymore.

"You are not such a case but the arrival of Nathan and Emma caused certain change in every werewolf and vampire. And this is the only thing which covers up all the plans up until now."

Douard said in relief.

"What do you mean? Is there still something left? I sense you are just trying to use us and not help.'' Betty said sneeringly.

And with her hate and anger leaking out, she looked like an absolute beast. Her hands oozed out white haze and sparks of lightning flew.

"Calm down betty. I think they still haven't said everything to us." Frank said after giving a lot of thoughts.

"What?! You know, right? What you just did was exactly the same thing you did when Alene was found?"

Frank stood firm and quiet.

"Ha! Whatever. Count me out of your plan. I withdraw and when I reach the temple, I will break the pact with the pack and leave. I can't offer my life willingly to someone else's selfish plan."

Betty and her words, though looked selfish, were accurate and logical.

That night it stretched long and the meal didn't taste good. Forcefully gulping the food, I had to stay isolated to calm myself down from all those unwanted events from clinging to my mind.

"Will you get to the point please? As we know we are the sacrifices, we demand to know all the things rightfully."

Frank said with his usual kingly leadership aura.

To that Nathan started speaking, who was quiet till now.

"I have an answer for that, Father!"

'Father! My foot.' Frank sneered inside.

"We were thought to be freed and reincarnate within more hundred years in future but when Alene was brought to the seal, we got bound to it unknowingly and with help of my friend, Timothy, we argued for long and came to a conclusion that, the seal which Alene carried has turned into a blessing."

"Then?"

"We are born due to her wolf's cause and her wolf is the divine magical beast of 'Goddess of Red Moon'. And that is not what's important now, but the thing which vampires are trying to do is."

Nathan added.

"Ned!"

Emma called Ned and he brought a strange looking scroll and rolled out on the table.

There were strange and weird pictures and words written all over it.

"This is the solution for your problems and our only way to not do any sacrificial things. We planned to do the ritual but discarded the thoughts after we found a shocking thing from spies sent over Citadel."

Emma looked at me and Betty with a look asking for approval.

We didn't know what that was.

"What is it now?" Betty changed her attitude after hearing they wanted to save us.

'Sigh!'

Emma took a long breath and said,

"We found Drake is planning to duplicate this ritual and Royals are definitely coming to the Citadel soon. Before he can complete the ritual, we need to strengthen our power."

"But how?" Frank shouted.

He said suddenly that it threw me off as I was near him.
