MY IRRITATION

Rᴇʙᴇᴋᴀʜ'ᴤ ᴘᴏɪɴᴛ ᴏғ ᴠɪᴇᴡ:

He smiles.

"I'm sorry for my behavior. I didn't know it was you— but at least I gave you a ride home," he purposely says.

"obviously," I roll my eyes

"Wow really?" she looks at me.

"Yeah…" I unwillingly answer, "he did,"

Though I don't mention the part where: he left me with no choice.

I've never seen her so happy, feels like I'm getting married.

"Please sit down," she offers, "I'll bring some cookies for you,"

Jordan walks to sit on the sofa.

"Go and sit with him," she says

"I-I have homework," I attempt to walk past her to the staircase behind the sofa Jordan's sitting on, watching the TV on my right.

"Come on," she forces me

"Fine," I drag my feet and sit on the opposite end leaving some space between us. My mom walks to the kitchen opposite me on the right.

He tilts his head to the side and stares at me with a mischievous look—for a second, then he moves closer to me filling in the space between us. I exhale with Irritation.

"Am I not that fun to be around?" he sits back with his right arm resting on the couch back.

"You have no idea," I say, resting my arm on the couch arm. Just to move away from the touch of his behind me. He laughs, I ignore him.

My mom walks to us with a plate of homemade cookies, and a warm smile.

"Thank you," he says

"Thanks," I slight smile

"Enjoy…" she walks away but stops at the sound of a knock on the door. She walks past me and heads to the back.

I'm guessing it's Jordan's Mom—who else could it be?

I turn to look at the door behind us, and our eyes meet. I didn't know he was glancing at me.

"you are too boring, you know," he says

"You can go home if you want; I'm not begging you to be here," I say to him,

"oh but then who's going to be here to touch you?" he leans closer; resting his hand on the sit. "and make your body respond the way it does with me," he looks down at my lips. I wish I could disappear into the couch right now.

"Hello…" says a women's voice behind us, I inhale looking at the full figure woman dressed in a dark blue jean and a printed black top—Perfect timing.

"Hello," I smile— a bit shy.

Jordan's Mom has light brown eyes just like him.

"oh," she proudly smiles at both of us. "I see you guys are getting along already" Jordan gets up.

"we're getting along great, she was actually telling me about something she wanted to tell me in private—upstairs" Jordan says while getting up, as if he knows what he is talking about.

"No, I didn't" I try to keep my cool asslowly get up and he walks to our parents.

"Did you perhaps change your mind? I really wanted to hear it," he turns to me.

"Hear what!?" I ask with anger and confusion at the same time.

"Okay you too. You can go upstairs and sort out whatever this is," my mom says

"Mom!" I shout with my jaw slacking, "that won't be necessary," I cross my arm over my chest

"No-no, it's okay—you can go up," my Mom insists, I look at him and wonder.

"alone in one room with him?" I exhale

"I don-"

"thank you Miss Stevenson," he grabs my hand and guides me to the staircase on the other side of the dining room, opposite the TV stand.

"They are so cute" says his mom behind us. This is not normal.

I walk up the stairs, while he follows behind me. We get in the room and I turn to look at him as he closes the door—and locks it. He turns around, and slowly makes his way to me.

"What…are you doing?" I ask with fear as I slowly move backwards.

"What does it look like I'm doing?"

"Don't you dare touch me!" I warn as I walk past my dressing table.

"Are you sure? Coz deep down you're saying otherwise," he says, and my back touches the wall.

"What is your problem?" I question as he pins me against the wall, opposite the window.

"My problem is that: I would break a rule…just to prove a point,"

"what?" I ask in confusion

"Never mind, let's finish what we started earlier, you know…before your mom interrupted us," he smirks

I feel him place his warm hand on my hip. I gasp.

"Please stop it," I beg, "you don't even know me, why would you…"

"But I do," he says

"You've only known me for a few hours,"

He ignores, and his lips touch mine. I immediately push him away but not even a single muscle moves, it's like I didn't do anything to him at all.

"You know, I like-" he turns his head to the window as thunder strikes outside, and the weather suddenly changes.

He removes hand from the wall and walks to the window. I can see anger from the side of his face as his lips tightly shut, his nostrils flare and his eyes squint slightly.

"what could be making him angry" I try to walk to the window to see what's happening.

"Stay where you are! " he commands while looking at me from the side of his face, "turn around and don't look,"

Next thing I know, he is climbing out the window,

"what are you doing?" I ask him with concern, but he does not answer. I look away, and let him do whatever it is he is doing.

Thereafter, the lightning stops and the cumulonimbus clouds disappear. I quickly run to look out of the window, but there's no one there.

"he's gone? Why would he just leave? What am I going to tell his Mom? This is so messed up…Is he okay?"

My heart is startled by the knocking on my bedroom door. I slowly to open it.

"mom," I say, looking at her and Jordan's mom. She holds my left hand with her arm.

"are you okay?" my Mom inquires with a worried look on her face.

"I'm fine," I respond, " did you guys also notice the thunder that struck outside?"

"Yes," his mom nods, " it's so strange how quickly it stopped,"

"very strange," I say to her in thought, while my mom looks around my room.

"where's Jordan?" she my mom questions

"Think fast, I can't tell them he went out of the window while the thunder was striking outside, how will his mom react? He probably got struck my lightning (okay maybe not, that'd be awful),"

"He said he uh…he uh…wanted to like um… go see his friend somewhere, that's why he asked you guys if we could…come up here," I explain to them and they both look at each other and back at me, "so that he uh…wouldn't have to explain anything to you,"

"Oh, that's so rude," his mom gets a little furious

"so he lied about you wanting to tell him something?" she asks

"Yeah," I confirm with an innocent nod, "but I forgive him,"

" I have to get going, I must teach that boy a lesson" his mom says.

"Well, good for me," I smile deep down.

"You should stay for dinner," my mom offers, " the food is too much for two people," she reasons

"I'm so sorry Anah," his mom apologizes "I really have to check if Jordan is home, I need to talk to him," she insists

"Okay then, let me escort you," my mom smiles

"But I promise to take you guys out for lunch sometime, just to make it up to you,"

"It's okay Amber, he's just a boy being a boy,"

She escorts her outside and while I stand by the door, they talk for a minute in the middle of our small tiled yard.

After some minutes, they hug each other and Miss Amber walks out of the small gate to her car. She waves at us with a smile, we wave back as she enters her car, and leaves.

my mom and I return inside the house.

"Let me go check on the food," she walks into the kitchen while I close the door.

"Mom?..." I follow her

"What is it sweetie?" she asks while stirring the meat in the pot.

"I want to talk to you about something," I say

"Is this about what happened with Jordan because-"

"no mom, it's about..." I take a deep breath, "it's about you allowing Jordan to be alone with me IN A ROOM," I emphasize. She puts the lid back on the pot and turns to me. I take a sit on the chair at the dining table. "I know you want me to start seeing people but—that was just unnecessary, even if you know his parents. Who knows what he would've done to me"

"Rebekah, I'm sorry," she apologizes, " I didn't mean to push you into anything,"

"It's okay,"

"It's just that…Jordan is a good boy, and I thought he'd be great for you," she reasons

"if only you knew.."

"When I told his mom about you, she liked you right away and we decided that you guys should meet and probably end up together," explains the woman who always told me: books before boys…and now she's forcing me to some guy whose mom she just met like a week ago.

"I'll find love mom," I assure her, "in my own time, and maybe I won't have to; maybe it will find me instead. I'm only turning 21 not 40"

She smiles at me and gives me a hug

"I still think you should give Jordan a chance" she insists

" Okay, mom I'll see," I say— just to make her happy.

After talking with my mom, she tells me to go take a sit on the chair while she dishes up some food for us.

The roasted chicken with vegetables and roasted potatoes look mouth-watering, life is not easy when you're a food lover but still want to stay slim. I attend the gym three times a week but I don't have a proper schedule though, I go whenever I feel like going I just have to make I go there three times a week. Sadly today I did not go because of that idiot, Jordan.

I waited until she fell asleep and entered her room through the window. Although it was closed, I have my ways.

Looking where she is sleeping, memories start to come back. I take more steps closer to her to see her beautiful face. I half-kneel on the side of where she is resting, I rest my one hand on her bed and the other I gently place it on her cheek, caressing it with my thumb.

"what a beautiful woman you have grown to be, Harmony. I would love to sit here and watch you sleep the whole night sadly, I have to go. Don't fall for my brother's tricks. Would you actually fall for him?..." I exhale. I rise up and leave her room. What I'm most afraid of, is not being able to stay away from her.
