Class Test Begins!

In marsh grass field of forest, filled with herbaceous plants with occasional trees, there is a lonely blue portal floating above the marshy ground.

The forests lack woody trees and grasses densely covers the ground and hide the marshy field below it. Humidity in Air is intense enough to fill the forest with fog and dilute the visibility to horizon.

A slender figure emerged from the portal. He has black hair and deep black eyes. He looks around with puffed chest and proud gaze as if he is here to conquer the land. He took a deep breath but instantly regret it as pungent, rotten eggs like smell infiltrate his nose and mouth.

"Cough, Cough, Cough…"

A blonde-haired buffed figure emerges from the portal. He looked around with same confident gaze and his gaze fell on black hair youth. A chuckle escaped his mouth as he looked at him.

'Must be a fly…'

Lucas looked around and an adventures feeling filled his being. It's his first time to enter an E-Rank dungeon like this. He took a breath but instantly regret it just like Adam. He coughed the air and covered his nose with a disturbed and nauseous look.

Another figure emerged from the portal and just like that they keep emerging from the portal until everyone from the other side enters the dungeon. The last person to enter is Alice who did a last check if everyone is here or not and arranged the students into formation she planned.

This is the dungeon specified for their test. This Dungeon contains monster known as Vicious Lizard of various rank below D-Rank and they got high mobility, good strength and natural poison teeth as weapon. Their height comes to be 3 feet for F-Rank and brown colored slimy scales and tetrapod locomotion with amphibiotic nature. Their skin color darkens toward black with the increase in rank.

Alice checked the no. of students which numbered to 49. Only one student is missing and that is Ethan. He is only G-Rank among all the students in academy. No one had any problem with him sitting out of it since he will rather see as a liability.

Alice leads students to arrange themselves according to their battle formation they had planned already. Alice had divided students into two teams. First one, namely common team will be responsible for dealing with all G- and F-Rank monsters in dungeon and latter, namely elite team will be responsible for E-Rank monsters. This way, they will be able to save energy stamina while maintaining a good pace.

Students had no complaints as they know all in elite team are those who have exceptional capabilities like Adam, Kiera and Leon. It was already arranged in classroom. Alice had done that because test is more about efficiency than finishing. It needs to be done as efficiently as possible.

They make their way forward in marshy field with mud stick to their boots. Their feet seem to sink at every step which brings a sense of discomfort but it was not enough to drop their fighting capabilities so they didn't complain about it.

Alice leads the students and they stumbled into the group of monsters of G-Rank but they ran away the moment their sense caught their class presence. Some monsters G-Rank monsters came in groups of tens but it only ended up as one-sided slaughter. Tanker and Defense Mages holds the monsters and multi colored elemental attacks flew from behind them and blasted all the monsters to dead.

This line up kept up but no. of G-Rank monsters kept increasing over the time and it started reached hundred. The first group was at 50% of their capabilities. They have support magicians but Alice didn't send them as they were saving them for E-Rank monsters.

It is necessary to maintain the consumption of stamina and mana when clearing a dungeon which was not a problem thanks to Alice managing students from behind but even she was tired slightly as leading people was not an easy job. Adam did offer to clear the F-Rank monsters but she rejected as she doesn't want to burden him before the real battles. Adam is their trump card for boss battle which she needed to save until the time.

Alice leads the students to deeper part of the dungeon and ground become marshier and their foot seems to sink completely with every step. Air had also turned into heavy and denser as sulfuric smell seems to fill the air with toxicity.

Alice asked the Earth Mages to solidify the ground and Light Mages to purify the air. Ground become solid and air become lighter and visibility also return to some extent with help of wind mages. This marks that they have finally travelled half-way to dungeon and to prove that E-Rank monster comes in group of three with tens F-Rank behind them.

Alice ordered students to separate the F-Rank Monsters from E-Rank first and have them circled with their first group. Alice had arranged as her ten students which are filled with Adam, Keira, Lucas, Lily, Leon, herself and few high ranked students and surrounds the E-Rank. Lucas and other high rank student seems to be tanker, Leon, Kiera and another high rank student are in vanguard with Alice being in rear and Mages like Adam, Lily and another students with support magic are in center.

E-Rank Vicious Lizards roared but lightning bolt fell from the dark sky continuously and covers them completely. The firepower was strong enough to send waves to every student in vicinity. All students can't help but stole a glance of the explosion and Adam.

His destructive spells are so strong that anyone in same rank can only lie down and took the beating like a dog. Adam had a nasty smirk on his face though he is not aware of it. He can feel their gaze and tell that they are damn impressed with his spell.

Explosion died down and vicious lizards finally become visible after smoke dust fade away. Their skin was bruised and bleeding from multiple spots of their body. They were not dead but in term of health, it fell down by more than 30% in total. An arrow flew past everyone and dug in the eyes of one of vicious lizard. It exploded and its head jerked back.

Bang.

"Focus on the battle…"

Alice said in soft voice but it was enough to pass through ears of every students of their class. Just like that Kiera and Leon handled other lizard while Lucas and another student kept another lizard busy. Adam just waited for them to accumulate damage as he wants to finish them in one more strike.

Leon creates some distance and charged his spear for attack. Vicious Lizard sense that and try to disrupt it but Kiera slashed her sword right at its neck but it dodge with a quick gallop to its side but Kiera didn't stop it as she kept it engaged and bought enough time for Leon to release his attack. He threw the spear right at the lizard.

[Unbending Star]

[Ground Frost]

Vicious Lizard felt the attack and tried to dodge but it found its four legs frozen stiff with its ice. It broke the ice but spear pierced its right shoulder right the next moment.

Leon jumped at it and grabbed his pierced spear and twisted it. Vicious Lizard hissed in pain but Leon paid no attention and drags his spear out. A reptilian leg flew away and landed on the ground. Vicious Lizard roared in pain and tried to bite Leon but he smoothly moved away from its shoulder. Leon took a side glance at Lily who was focusing on channeling another one of her attacks.

[Tidal Waves]

Ground shakes as raging torrents of water shook the ground and swept away all three E-Rank vicious lizards and put them together. Dark sky covered the sky again and multiple bolt of lightning fell on the ground and explodes. This time explosion was more tyrannical and ear-deafening like tens of drum roaring together. Smoke filled the area and another one of the mage removes it to reveal the bleeding corpse of vicious lizards.

Adam looked at it with satisfied and turned to high five with Lily who backed-off in fright as if scared of being attacked by him. Adam ignored it with a stiff smile but inside it felt like someone had ripped his heart and burned it right in front of him.

"Knock it off, dude…"

Lucas came from behind and tapped his shoulder in comfort. He had seen Adam trying hard to approach her since they came inside the dungeon but Lily seems to be avoiding him like a plague.

"…Whose fault do you think it is?"

Adam spat on the ground and looked away. It's their fault that she seems like this. Adam had genuine urge to tie both him and Ethan on a tree and burn them together with it.

"…Adam, trust me, pal. She is not your type. You need a wild and independent girl. Such pure and youthful beauty isn't your cup of tea…"

"Shut up, pure girl like her is only one who can satisfy my thirst for lus-I mean, pure love. You won't understand…"

"Only thing that is pure about you is your lustiness and virginity…"

Lucas said with internal disgusted expression. If it's not the dungeon, he would have said out loud but this guy is really petty. He might leave him to die in case of emergency.

"…How many times you can cast your AOE spells?"

Alice approached him as she saw him talking with Lucas. She wanted to confirm his limit as they are going to be more battles in succession from now and they need to be in best condition for further battles.

"…Total eight times but now only six."

"That's pretty impressive of you…but don't use your spell more than once."

Alice said with neutral tone and expression. Adam had talked to her before but she doesn't seems to treat him differently but just like every other students. It rubbed him off slightly.

"…Yes ma'am-!"

Adam suddenly raised his chin back and avoid something that flew past below his chin. If he didn't move, it would peirce its cheek and create a hole in mouth! He looked at the pitcher and found Lucas massively clicking his tongue which resound in the area and look around over the ground as if he took look for something.

Lucas cursed under his breath and look for another stone. Adam noticed and seperated himself from Alice. He was thinking of some line to flirt with her but threw away next instant. He already have one. He shouldn't be too much greedy.

Alice looked at Adam and then Lucas. They seems to be playing with each other. She shakes her head and made her way to another student. All men are same. They are childish, careless and irresponsible.

Leon was watching both of them and turned to look at Keira who was busy digging core fragment from corpses. All of them are strong people! He wants to fight them all together!!

Alice approached Lily who seems to be analyzing F-Rank battle with vicious lizards. Their battles had done by 30% and it will be finished in next ten minutes.

"…Hello."

Lily turned to her with fright as she was caught off guard. She looked at Alice with a nervous gaze and asked in a meek voice.

"…Yes?"

"…How many times you can use your AOE spells?"

"Four, no, no, three times…"

Alice looked at her weirdly. She was sure she didn't do anything to her then why is she so nervous around her. Alice had seen her casting spell. At that time, she was totally different person. She have calm and collected look on her face as she was doing everything with certainty but now? It looked like she might cry if she asked her name…
