The Monster Wave
"Prepare for battle, a group of monsters are coming!"
Someone at the frontline shouted, Delirious who stood amongst the crowd of Adventurers and Hunter, when he heard this, he smiled before disappearing; he almost sent those beside him flying.
Marcel, who stood far and saw Delirious immediately moved, could only sigh helplessly as he watched Delirious disappear; hjz destination was obvious; he wished to face the incoming monsters.
Those at the frontline were surprised to see a silhouette pass by; the next thing they saw was a man in strange clothing faced the monsters alone.
"HAAAAA!" Delirious shouted crazily like a crow.
"Oi oi... does anyone go after him!?"
Their faces cramped after they saw how Delirious was fighting.
Delirious meanwhile was fighting a pack of dark red wolves monsters called Bloodhound. Their number was more than thirty. They are monsters that hunt as a pack, and each has a rating of
However, Delirious had no trouble dealing with them; he blocked the claw of one of the Bloodhounds and used the recoil to leave the encirclement, he didn't land on the ground but on top of another Bloodhound, the latter had its spine crushed because he was landing, an almost invisible dark drill appeared on the sole of foot that pierced the monster's back, destroying its spine.
When Delirious landed, he spun, the blades in each of his hands moved at storm lie movements; it was cool yet deadly as limps flee, blood splashed the ground, dying it in its color.
He moved unfettered, dispatching bloodhounds here and there as if they were a weak goblin.
Quickly, Delirious eliminated all the bloodhounds in less than a minute and took out a magic item to record hiz result.
"What's up everybody, Delirious here and we here today that I managed to kill King Cartoonz' minions!"
The result then immediately transmitted to the HQ in Kalren and was announced to the people. This is done to let people know that there's nothing to fear, to boost their morale.
The other adventurers didn't even get the opportunity to shine; they were feeling ashamed to be outdone by a man several times younger than them. However, if they were in his place, they wouldn't have it so easy. As if trampling on their feelings, Delirious happened to be saying that at that moment.
"Not too long ago, I have already reach at the early-staged Rank 4, people said anyone at that level will have a hard time facing these fuckers with their numebrs but not gonna lie, they are weak as hell!"
Any adventurers who are at the Rank 4 almost vomited blood; Delirious didn't heed them, Basically and Moo rubbed their foreheads on looking at the livestream. Just as one of the adventurers wanted to say something, the situation took an unexpected turn.

The ground is shaking.
The first person to notice this was one of the adventurers.
"Gregory! What's happening!?" Asked a panicked adventurer.
"It's a horde of monsters coming." Another one responded, he had faced a similar situation in the past; however, not this soon. No wonder the Count said it was an unusual monster wave.
"Prepare for battle.'' The strongest adventurers present ordered, everyone readied their weapons. Preparations were ready.
Soon, monsters came into view; it was a mix of everything: goblins, hobgoblins, kobolds, wind wolves, water monkeys, giants, and so on.
"Mage attack first, ready? Fire!" The acting leader ordered, and the mages moved at once, firing their magic. Fire Mages fire first followed by Wind mage to increase the fire magic.
"[Fireball]"
"[Wind Arrows!]"
"[Fireblast!]"
*Boom!* *Boom!*
Like firecrackers, magic rained down on the ground creating several explosions; things hadn't died down yet; the next attack followed, water mages fired, extinguished the previous flame, giving the monster a short moment of peace before hell was let loose by the fourth and last attack.
Lightning rained down on the saturated monsters, Water+ Lightning; the result couldn't be more obvious.
Many monsters died electrocuted; the unluckiest had their heart burst as the lightning happened to land on their chest, their drenched chest where their heart was.
"Damn, that is a nice tactic, no wonder they picked him to be the leader,'' An adventurer commented when he saw the damage the mages had done; Delirious who returns to the city walls didn't say anything; he was more eager to slay some monsters, this could be seen as how tightly he was holding his dual weapons.
Suddenly, the acting leader raised his hand and let down.
"Awoo!"
Some emitted battle cries as they charged at the frozen monsters, those behind started trampling on the slowest, the injured as if they were possessed; their earlier fear seemed to have vanished in thin air.
*Swoosh!*
Couldn't hold back, Delirious moved even faster, he passed a hobgoblin mage, the latter was trying to cast magic by raising his wand; unfortunately, the hands along with the wand got cut off, the monster had no time to cry before something pierced its brain from behind, it was Delirious quick drawing the hobgoblin mage with a revolver.
In the next second, Delirious unleashed attack after attack, those who were slow saw themselves being bisected, the luckiest lost an arm at most, however, soon the grim reaper himself passed by, and the result, they lost their lives.
Delirious was agiliting the amidst monsters with a savage smile, he encountered almost no resistance as the other adventurers had gotten numb to this scene, they knew they'd from a heart attack if they kept getting surprised by everything this presumed an early Rank 4 could do.
However, soon they learned it was just the beginning. Delirious then unleashed a skill, dark energy flashed, and thirty monsters were obliterated.
People froze, even the leader was momentarily surprised before smiling, for the remaining people they didn't get over their shock soon if he had killed thirty monsters in three attacks, they could still accept it, however, decimating thirty monsters with one attack, is absurd for someone at the early Rank 4, not even the Leader back in his early days when he first reach Rank 4 as he could only kill 10-15 monsters in one attack.
But it didn't matter now as he is at the peak-staged Rank 5.
"Keep attacking." The leader roared, bringing them to their senses, they continued to push forward.
Soon, the horde of monsters was cleared; however, it was not the end of their trouble. Another horde of monsters soon followed, however, these monsters were different from the previous one; they were stronger, with the weakest being
*Screech!*
The bat-like creatures screeched, and the monsters charged toward the humans. The leader moved at that time, so did the mages as they attacked.

With a screech that could cause fear, the bat monster unleashed a devastating attack.
Concentrating magical energy around its claw, the bat creature accelerated even more and struck Delirious in the chest.
"Screech~"
Delirious was pushed back a few feet. His chest was ripped open, and blood splashed out.
Surprisingly, he ignored the pain as the impact sent him flying. Delirious put his feet on the ground easily, to the creature's surprise, but the bat creature struck him again, the power then traveled to his body, wanting to destroy his heart; however, a small black appeared and sucked the energy, and a click noise reverberated the battlefield.
"Hahahahaha!" Delirious suddenly burst into laughter, drawing everyone's attention.
'What happened to him? Has he gone nuts?"
"Hahaha, Cough! No, you idiot, I'm laughing because that thing is already dead.'' Delirious responded, his eyes turned malicious that made the adventurer's skin crawl; the second bat creature immediately got a bad feeling, it wanted to move. However, Delirious' eyes were locked on him like a hawk locking its prey.
The first bat creature, not seeing the situation, immediately launched itself on Delirious, intending to bisect him.
Delirious extended both of his hands, and said.
"[Despair]"
A black mist spread around Delirious like a disease, in a span of a few seconds it became heavier and denser with every passing moment before finally inflicting its curse upon the two bat monsters, including dozens more behind them.
Then, in the next second, the two bat creatures alongside dozens of monsters behind them dropped to the ground with a loud thud.
Silence descended on the battlefield until the leader murmured to himself.
"What a terrifying ability, I can't tell if I will survive or not." The leader said, even though he's a Rank 5, he feels a bit frightened after feeling the aftermath of the skill.
