Yao De's woes

The light produced from the shard had an otherworldly force to it. It was ethereal yet tangible, compact yet loose, grand yet minuscule, transcendent yet simple. It alternated between two dualities.

Yao De's heart stirred as he thought the light flying toward him was an attack from Yang Qing, despite not detecting any threat coming from it.

He was well on his way to circulating his cultivation base in preparation for his defense against the light charging at him only to find his body was rooted to the spot. It felt like some invisible hand containing heavenly might had held him in place, rendering him immobile, and thus could only watch helplessly as the light fell and dissolved into his body.
