Chapter 15: Ravine's newfound powers

(Ravine POV)

I was walking along the hallway, missing J.J. already when I suddenly got slammed against the locker.

What the hell?

I looked to see who it is, and they are J.J.'s friends and teammates.

"What's up?" One of them said. I have seen him before. J.J. always hangs out with him. I think his name is Nick.

"What's your problem?" I asked.

"You know who our problem is? It's you. Stay away from our Alpha. We don't need fags like you hanging out with him. It stains the Vanderbilt reputation." Nick said.

"Alpha?" I asked, completely confused.

"Just stay away from him, you understand?"

"I won't. He's my friend." I said.

He grabbed me by my collar and pressed me against the locker. He stared into my soul and threatened me.

"Stay away from him or there will be consequences."

I glared back at him, trying to show him that I am not scared nor am I intimidated. I looked him in the eye intensely. I didn't even realize that I wasn't blinking anymore.

I was already angry and I started thinking of evil thoughts about him. I imagined him falling into a pond full of piranhas, and they began feasting upon his flesh until all that's left of him is a chunky skeleton. I imagined him falling into an enormous fire pit and getting burnt into crisp. It's a different side of me. I have never been one to visualize these kinds of thoughts but he was such a bully and he's so rude that I couldn't help myself.

My eyes are already stinging due to the lack of blinking and they are starting to water but I didn't give up. I just stared at him with hatred and rage.

"Aw, the fag is crying." He taunted while the rest of his friends laughed.

All of a sudden, his nose started bleeding.

"Dude, you're bleeding." His friends pointed out. He took out his hanky and wiped it off but the blood started dripping faster. He covered his nose but it didn't help at all.

Students began gathering to watch the bizarre incident while I just stared at him continuously.

His hanky is already soaked with blood and he couldn't do anything. Suddenly, blood started running through his nose like a faucet. Students gasped in disgust.

"Fuck." He said as he ran away with a trail of blood. As soon as he ran, I broke out of my furious state.

Why do I get the feeling that I have something to do with what happened?

---

I am in the cafeteria and I am currently staring at my glass of water trying to redo the incident with Nick. I wanted to spill it using my mind.

I wanted to find out if it's just a coincidence or if I really have telekinesis.

My eyes are already stinging from the process. I tried my best to concentrate but I guess it's hard when you're in a noisy environment.

"Ravine?"

"Huh?"

"Are you okay? Are you praying or something? You've been staring at your glass the whole time."

"I'm fine, don't worry about me."

"You miss J.J., don't you?" She teased.

"It's not that."

"Chill out, Ravine! He's only going to be gone for a week, not a month."

I paid no attention to Frida and returned to what I am doing. I tried to focus again but it isn't working. What did I do earlier that I am not doing right now? Why can't it work?

Maybe it's just a coincidence or maybe I really am freak. I don't know anymore.

----

We are currently in the lab for a Bunsen burner activity. I put on my goggles to get started before opening the valves that needed to be opened.

I took the spark lighter to light a flame but the Bunsen burner is not creating any flame at all. I double checked if I did everything step by step in my lab book only to see that there's nothing wrong.

What is it this time?

I looked around, seeing people already starting with their experiment yet here I am, getting left behind.

I looked closely at the top of the barrel or chimney. As I was examining it for a long time, a huge flame came out, engulfing my hand on fire and burning it.

"Ahhh!!"

"Oh my God!" The teacher said. "Are you okay?"

Wow! Does it look like I'm okay?

"Let's take you to the clinic."

(J.J. POV)

Thank God! The pack meeting is over. I have been sitting in the conference room for almost the entire day. I am so relieved that I finally get to rest in my bedroom.

As I was exiting the room, my dad walked beside me and put his arm around my shoulder.

"You learning something?" He smiled.

"I actually am. This is not as bad as I thought it was going to be." I said.

"I'm glad to hear it. I see you mingling with the pack's high ranking members earlier."

"They're just giving me advice on how to be a good Alpha."

"Listen to them and take in what they are saying. It will benefit you in the long run."

"I know, dad."

"How's Ravine?" Dad asked.

"I haven't spoken to him yet."

"When are you going to tell him the truth?"

"As soon as I am ready, dad."

"Good luck, son!"

With that, Dad and I parted ways and I headed towards my room. Suddenly, someone started calling my name.

"J.J., Future Alpha."

I don't even have to look. I already know it's Ned.

"Ned, what's up?"

"Something happened to Ravine." He said.

My eyes widened and my heart almost jumped out of my chest as soon as I heard what he said.

"What is it? What happened to my mate?"
