27.Him

Five Months After

I closed her eyes as she smiled in her short sleeveless red dress on the roof of my grandfather's hotel. I thanked him so many times for his extra support and reserved for England when our school days were over.

I wanted more for her than just a music teacher in Michigan school, I wanted to make her dream come true. She expected dinner on the roof, she expected a picnic with the view of pretty Michigan but what she didn't expect when I removed my hand was the big jet that was in front of us.

She gasped at the surprise I had in store for her throughout this month with grandpa's help.

Her smile was the most gorgeous thing I've ever seen.

Her emerald gems glowed in excitement as the Michigan lights flickered on and off like a fairytale as the night breeze made her long hair flow.

"I can't believe it," she squealed, "I am going in a jet for the first time in my life." I laughed at her cuteness and held her on my lap with her small bump showing.

"Get used to that, love," I whispered in her ear as she blushed. The jet was destined to be in England in five hours ahead. I could tell Evange was tired so I argued with the stubborn girl to get some sleep.

"No, I want to see London skies." She snapped with a glare in my direction. I chuckled at her mood switches.

"I will wake you up when we reach there," I said as she contemplated then nodded in defeat, I laid her on the comfortable brown couch in front of me and kissed her.

"Good night, love." She closed her eyes after she told me good night. I kissed her bump and wrapped the blanket around her.

I sat there, just observing the light in my life, I would have never thought that my life was getting better, heck, I never thought I would get a job. I was overwhelmed by the huge turn of my shitty life. I rested my eyelids for a while until my girl surprised me with her soft kisses.

"Baby," she whined, "wake up, we're almost here." I groaned and waved my hand in dismissal, wanting to sleep some more.

Evangeline kissed my jaw softly and shook me awake. I opened my eyes to her natural morning face and couldn't believe my luck. She was beautiful every time except for her frizzy hair but even with that, she was prettier.

I kissed her fingertips and her lips, she kissed back as our heated make-out session came. We pulled away and smiled with swollen lips.

"One more hour to go." The pilot announced. Evange excitedly stared out the small jet window.

"Rys, look at that." She clapped her hands in anticipation and I looked over her shoulder to the stunning greenery scene and London morning skies.

We arrived safely and walked out after thanking the pilot for his efforts. I had two more hours to get Evange to her dream.

"Help me tie my hair." She said as she tried to tie her frizzy hair but failed and I smirked down at her.

"Nope."

"What did you just say?" She asked with a scowl. Her hormones were sure acting up.

"I mean yes." I quickly said, afraid of being clawed by her sharp nails. I bunched her hair with my hands and wrapped the band around it. It was tidier and showed Evange's face more clearly.

We strolled to the hotel after our fancy jet experience, everything there was made out of ceramic, gramps loved me more than my cousins.

I got the hotel keys and dragged a moody Evangeline, who would want to cycle at seven am?

"Come on, Ryson-" her eyes went wide at the spacious suite room with a heart shaped bed and two kitchens along with a whole view of London. My extra shifts paid off and my grandfather's salaries were off the roof.

My girl was in different places in one second, I placed our bags and grabbed her long navy dress.

"Evange, come here so you can get dressed," I called out to her. She came back as she gazed around. I chuckled at her surprised face, her eyes observed a million things at once.

"What's that for?" She asked as she eyed the elegant dress.

"You'll see." I teased Evangeline as she scurried to the bathroom with the dress in her hand. I went to the other bathroom as I freshened up and called the man to remind him of the appointment.

I wish you were here, mom, you'd see your grandchild. Our baby.

I heard Evange's ready shout and I zipped my leather jacket. Since I was quite the organizer, I already ordered a taxi for us so we went down and got in the taxi at the busy London streets. I gave the driver the location discreetly.

"Are you kidnapping the girl?" The driver accused. We both laughed as I shook my head at the confused man.

He got the memo as he drove along and Evange pestering increased. London had a very nice diverse attraction, I watched as the group of tourists was welcomed as they observed Queen Elizabeth's castle that had ornamental designs on the gates. I had to bring Evange to all the places in England.

She cried when we got out and she realized it was Julliard Academy Of Arts, she turned around and hugged me.

"Rys," she sniffed as she pinched her arm to make sure she wasn't in a dream, "this-thank you, thank you so much." She whispered as a tear fell down her eye when she faced her passionate agony.

I was so proud of her, she never gave up on her talent after her dad died. She aimed for being a music teacher to a higher dream. I was content with myself when I saw her ecstatic reaction.

"We're here for Evangeline Hart appointment," I told the receptionist. She tried to flirt with me by attempting to lower her shirt but when she saw my deranged wife and my ring, she shut up and told us to go right ahead.

One picture in the awards collection made me clog in my place. Evange sent me a confused look but my eyes were glued to the wide frame of a woman who had my eyes.

"Rys, isn't that your mom?" She questioned in surprise. We both looked at the beauty of my mother with the guitar on her lap and a wide smile.

"Yes, it's my mom." I agreed with a proud smile on my face. She has won a scholarship for how talented she was.

"She looks so lovely." She complimented as she blew a kiss to the picture.

"Let's go to the appointment," I told her as my eyes gave my mom one last glance and we both entered the doors of her dreams.

I wished Evange luck in front of the stage as she gushed in nerves but one sentence from me encouraged her.

"Do it for our baby." With these words, her eyes shined with determination as the council came in and I sat in the front row.

It was like she came out of a Van Gogh painting, her navy dress flowed behind her on the seat and the spotlight was on her while the stage dimmed its lights. I made sure to take a picture of her and changed an old picture of her as my wallpaper to the new one I took.

Her long hair cascaded down her back to her bare waist as the back revealed her freckles and I was fascinated with the look on her face when she started to play "Swan Lake" by Tchaikovsky. The light was made for her as her shiny hair was on the left side of her shoulder and her eyes spoke emotions. The grand white piano contrasted her so beautifully.

I turned my eyes to the council as they were blown away by the prodigy in front of them. They would be fools to reject her.

Her hands began to play faster as tears rolled down her cheeks and her lips quivered as the raw emotion came out of her body.

My eyes twinkled like I had won the lottery. I always adored the way she played, like the first days in Michigan school when I used to watch her.

Music was what joined us together. Both of our dreams came true. I got to watch her play with her pregnant belly and she got to audition for Julliard.
