Can You Explain To Me What Jealousy Is?

"You are not allowed to go near any other man or smile at them. It irritates me, and as your trainer, those are my rules. Definitely don't do it around me or somewhere I might see you."

He declared, and deeply shocked, a deep frown settled in between Yennefer's brows.

"What do you mean? I can smile and speak to whomever I want to. It's none of your business. You don't get to tell me what to do! I am not your wife or something-"

He slammed her into the wall yet again and glared at her in annoyance.

"You might as well try me. I am sure you know what I am capable of. I will cut you limb to limb."

He threatened, and Yennefer, who seemed to have noticed something, had a slow smile spread across her face.

"I don't want to believe this, but... am I smelling jealousy? Are you falling for me?"

She burst out laughing as she asked, and Luthiel immediately backed away from her.

"You must be out of your mind!" He glared at her with his hands balled tightly into a fist. "You are not my type of woman, and neither am I jealous. It simply irritates me, and that's it."

He clarified, and before Yennefer could utter a word, he stormed out of the chamber and slammed the door shut.

He hurried away towards the isolated room where Damian usually stayed, and once he was inside, he shut the door behind him and took a heavy breath.

"Shit! Why did I do that?" He clutched his heart, not sure why it was beating so fast either.

"Are you okay?" Damian's voice suddenly resounded and immediately startled, Luthiel quickly let go of his chest and straightened up with a stressed look on his face.

"What are you doing here?" He questioned, and Damian raised his brow at him.

"What do you mean? This is where I stay, so if anything, I would be asking you that question. And wait, why is your face all red?"

He inquired, and Luthiel immediately touched his face.

"Um…I don't know…" He shook his head, genuinely unsure why his face was so flushed.

"I see… Well, it's good that you are here. I have something that I want to tell you." Damian walked towards the table to sit down.

'Which is?"

"Well, if I am not wrong, on the day that Ruel was released, I believe that another soul was released as well. I don't know which it was, but I believe it was another djinn, and its power is nearly as strong as Ruels'. I can feel it."

He explained, and a frown immediately ensued on Luthiel's face.

"Where do you feel its presence?" He asked.

"Right now, I can't feel it within the castle, which leads me to believe that it's not currently within the castle. But the last time I felt it was yesterday." He clarified, and Luthiel slowly nodded his head.

"I see…Well, if you do feel it again, let me know instantly." He said and Damian nodded his head.

He let out a soft breath and turned around to leave, but as though a question popped into his mind, he halted and turned around to look at Damian.

"What?" Damian inquired, unsure why he was staring so intently at him.

"Um... can you explain to me what jealousy is?" He asked, and surprised by such a question, Damian put up his brow at him.

"Hmmm... what type of jealousy? The one you feel when you feel like your competition is better than you, or a jealousy of love?" He inquired, not sure which one he meant.

'Uh…" Lutheil stuttered, his lashes flickering. "Well, it's, um, love jealousy. I want to-"

"Are you in love?" Damian threw the question at him almost immediately, unsure why he would be asking if he was in love.

"No! I am not!!"

"Then why are you asking? Oh wait, are you in love but not sure if you are?" He pried, and Luthiel, who regretted even asking that question in the first place, turned around to leave.

"Forget it," He said.

"Hey! Hey! Wait!" Damian hurriedly appeared in front of him and smiled broadly at him. "Alright, alright, I will answer you." He sighed in disappointment, and Luthiel scowled at him.

"Well, jealousy of love is very simple. Let's assume you love someone. You'll never be happy when you see her smile at another man, laugh at another man's joke, or even allow another man to come close to her. Overall, you don't want her to be involved with any other man besides you."

He exclaimed so vividly, and Luthiel, who instantly realized that this was a summary of everything he feels, stilled in his position.

There was this irk that he felt when he saw Yennefer laughing with Yuri.

Her smile was so genuine, and the only time she smiled at him like that was during the time they danced together.

It made him mad to see her smile at another man like that.

He seemed to want her to smile like that only to him and no one else.

His eyes twitched, and he balled his hands into a tight fists.

Could he really have feelings for her?

But if he does, why is it so hard for him to admit it?

Why does he feel that it's just a facade and that he really doesn't love her?

He questioned himself and shook his head, believing that it must also be a conjoined lie in his heart.

He took a deep breath, and without uttering a word, he pushed the door open and walked out.

He returned back to his chamber to see Yennfer lying on the bed with her legs crossed and her eyes fixed on the ceiling.

"You're back." Her voice resounded, and without replying to her, Luthiel walked towards the sword rack and hung his sword.

He took his armor off and moved to sit down on the chair.

He untied his hair, letting it fall to his waist, and rested his head back.

A grimace emerged on Yennefer's face, and she sat up on the bed.

She stood up and walked over to stand in front of him.

She sat down on the table and tilted her head to one side.

"Why are you staring at me?" He asked in a cold voice, obviously feeling her gaze on him even with his eyes closed.

"Nothing. I just want to know why you are suddenly giving me cold shoulders."
