When the armored floating car landed on the parking platform of Newster branch school, everyone in the school tensed up.


Whether students or teachers, anyone who had ever been in trouble tensed their nerves and broke into a cold sweat. Even without paying particular attention, they could learn about the recent actions of the Law Enforcers from the overwhelming news in District Seventeen.


They were indeed arresting people, and after arresting someone, they would send them directly to the suburban prison from which not even money could ransom them.


The suburban prison was for the most violent and evil criminals of District Seventeen. Once incarcerated there, their fates were even more tragic than those of ordinary prisoners; the recidivists saw them as class enemies. In a "free" prison, many things more terrible than losing one's life could happen.
