Before the incident in the Fourth Neutral Country, no one understood the Void.


Ivan realized something from his few encounters with "the Rat"—even "the Rat" himself knew nothing about the Void's existence and didn't seem able to wield the power that had erupted in the distant suburban prison at will.


But "the Rat's" recent words proved that he indeed had some subtle connection with the Void. Military Intelligence Section Seven had investigated all data related to him, and there was no intersection in their lives; "the Rat" had no way of knowing his past.
