That night, Song Lan was awakened by the urgent ringing of his cellphone.


Groggy, he opened his eyes. The exhaustion from the morning's activities had allowed him to sleep soundly until now. He was befuddled for a moment before he saw Lu Xiang, already dressed in her pajamas, sitting by the window with her back to him.


To support him on his first day of exercise, Lu Xiang had specifically cleared her entire day.


It wasn't difficult to discern from the conversation that this call was most likely work-related. After listening for only a few moments, Lu Xiang got out of bed and started doing her hair, then spread her uniform out on the bed.


"There's a company in the West District that reported an attack. From the description, it might be related to Angle Saffire. I have to go check it out."
