Leo was very jealous of them, but he knew all too well that there was nothing he could do about it.

He was particularly jealous of the black-haired Luther Clint, whom Leo saw as a winner in life—his parents were alive, he was good-looking, had a sister and a house, even a bride, and his family was fairly wealthy—yet every time that boy would arrogantly dismiss compliments about his good grades with a cool 'I didn't perform well.'

Leo lay there, resting his face on his arms, unable to see any future for himself; perhaps all he could do was to die alone.

Just as Leo felt his prospects were utterly bleak, suddenly, there came a knocking sound from outside the door.

Knock knock knock!

"Who is it? Speak up!"

Leo replied irritably.

Knock knock knock!

However, the person outside seemed not to hear him at all, didn't reply, and kept knocking relentlessly.

"What the hell, who comes to visit me for no reason?"
