Chapter 43: A Victim

I was terrified of him at first glance. His face was sharp as hell, from his nose and chin all the way to his eyebrows. His black medium-length hair was clearly touched by a professional. It wasn’t moving an inch.

I never wanted my first meeting with the father of the man I love to be this way. That broke my heart alongside many things.

He was wearing a black suit and black shirt, complimenting his features. That made him look even more terrifying. I knew at that moment that no one could win a fight against him. He was a force of nature. He was truly wild. And his attack would be lethal.

And now, I was his most delightful prey. His eyes were on me. Detecting my flaws, imperfections, and mistakes, and checking the time for the deadly attack.

I looked at Aiden with need of his help. But the way he looked at his father made me feel like he wouldn’t be much of a help. He couldn’t save me from his father.

And there he was, slowly walking toward us, taking a sip from his drink.
