CHAPTER 2

**Five years later**

Mother! Mother!!..."Eva cried out her name round the house in search of her.

Eva was five years old already and she had so much resemblance with her mother. Her dark brown hair danced down her shoulders showing off the neatly braided pony tail hairstyle tied with some red ribbons.

Aguera heard her little girl calling out to her as she hurriedly left her bedroom to reach out to Eva. Eva sighted her mother running towards her direction. She flew into her arms while Aguera received her in love. Aguera raised her up turning her around while Eva made some baby gigglings.

"Eva you're all grown now and has become so troublesome. Why were you running round the house? You could have gotten injured in the process." Aguera asked her while Eva tilted her eyes staring into her mother's eyes.

"Mummy don't you want me anymore? Am I a burden to you now? Will you leave me as father did?" Eva asked her as Aguera got shocked by her question.

Aguera shook her head vigorously holding onto Eva. She wasn't going to leave Eva not even after her second daughter was taken away from her by that monster. Aguera dropped her down to the ground as Eva stood to her feet. Eva felt happy after getting that hug as a reassurance from her mum. This was Aguera's way of assuring her that she wasn't going to leave no matter the situation. Eva held onto Aguera's hand tightly as both were heading towards Eva's room. They bumped into Mr Marcos Aguera's father.

"This illegitimate product again...Aguera haven't I warned you to try your best not to let me set my eyes on this curse? You are stubborn and you really do not listen." Mr Marcos said to her dragging Eva from her hand.

Eva fell to the ground after he pushed her greatly. Aguera went after her daughter in tears checking her body if she had aquired some injuries on her body after such a fall that was too much for a little child.

"Father this is too much and I won't let you touch my daughter in this manner again. You're forgetting something and that's the fact that you're living under my roof. You can leave anytime soon be warned." She warned him in anger while Eva cried out in pain.

"Mommy why those grandpa hate me so much? Am I really an illegitimate child as he always says? Were you not married to father before you gave birth to me?" Eva brilliantly asked her in naivety while Aguera looked at her speechless.

Aguera ignored her question raising her up from the ground. Aguera left with Eva while Mr Marcos stood there in so much anger. He really hated his grand daughter so much because of how he watched people taint his image after finding out that his daughter got pregnant out of wedlock. This particular act has made him lose so many opportunities in the past and he blamed the poor girl for everything. He had tried auctioning her several times in Aguera's absence but they were all in vain. Mrs Marcos has been at a corner watching the scene and was finally out of her hidden place. She approached her husband, placing her hand on his shoulder.

"Why are you intentionally hurting our daughter? You can see the tears in her eyes and all she needs now is our support. Eva had brought so much happiness in this house after her birth. You can clearly see that she makes Aguera happy so please don't interfere in our daughter's happiness." Mrs Marcos said to him in a low tone while he rebuked her.

"Diane please let me be and don't sing about your daughter's pity in my ears. That little silly girl might be a bundle of joy to you but she's an embarrassment to me and I hate her so much." He replied her, walking away immediately.

Mrs Marcos was shocked at his words and could only shake her in surprise. She was ashamed to call such a man her husband and wondered when he became this evil and cruel. She left there heading to Eva's room where her daughter was with Eva. Jenner sat beside Aguera on Eva's bed consoling her while Eva laid on the bed looking at her mother's sad face. She couldn't understand what was going and she could only feel sad alongside with her mum.

"Don't ever ask your mum such questions again to avoid hurting her feelings okay?" Jenner said to Eva as she nodded her head in agreement.

"Mommy I'm sorry if my words hurt you badly. I don't ever want to see you cry mommy so I promise not to ever say things that will cause your tears."Eva said to Aguera while I Aguera watched her smiling and crying.

Jenner knew that Eva wasn't the reason for her sister's tears but she really had to stop her from asking such question in the future. Aguera was only being emotional because of the cold shoulders she received from her father. She really wished that her father gets to accept her daughter as his grand daughter one day. Mrs Marcos entered into the bedroom as Aguera secretly wiped off her tears.

"You don't have to pretend...I know you would be here crying again. Try your best to avoid your father as you have always done four years ago." Mrs Marcos said to Aguera while she rested on her mum's belly wrapping her arms round her waist.

★★At Oreo's mansion★★

Having breakfast with his daughter and the wife he married three years ago to be a mother figure to his daughter, Oreo broke the silence.

"Eve how're you enjoying the meal? Do you want more? You know that daddy would do anything for you." Oreo asked her while she shook her in refusal munching and smiling.

"Let her be honey (as she fondly calls him) I want our daughter to maintain good table manners." Mabel said to him gently rubbing her palm on Eva's hair.

"Thank you for genuinely loving our daughter Mabel. You've been a supportive wife and mother to our family. I'll always do everything I can to keep you happy it's a promise." Oreo replied her giving out a wide smile.

Eve secretly watched her parents getting all loved up and she watched them in love. She had no clue that the lady she had always called mother since she was younger was just a foster and wasn't her biological mother. She had so much resemblance with her twin sister but there was a clear difference in their height. Eva was taller while Eve was shorter than her. Eva was a social butterfly while Eve was a little quiet girl that lived a fearful life. She would rather watch you with smiles even when she was getting bullied. She was mischievous and good at causing trouble irrespective of her quiet nature. Oreo had refused Mabel from taking in for him because he wasn't ready for that yet. He wanted his little princess to grow up first and didn't want her to have any competition while growing up. He wanted her to get all his love and attention. Mabel was very understanding and sadly Oreo was just using her because of his little princess. He haven't loved the mother of his daughter not to talk of loving any other woman. Even after being married he was still having secret affairs with single young ladies such a shameless man in Aguera's voice.
