Failed Plan

Inside the presidential suite room, a blonde hair guy was asleep on the comfy sofa, the evening golden sun ray peering through the opened windowpane as they shine upon his face. There was a strange; yet beautiful charm to the scene.

"Pull down the shade, Meyer." Alastair grumble undertone, lifting his left palm to shield his eyes from the sheer brightness.

"Yes, your highness." Meyer strode forward towards the controller on the table. He taps on the screen and soon enough, all the windowpanes came closing. The brightness in the room became dimmer.

Sensing the change in the room through his eyelid, Alastair soon feel comfortable and went back to sleep.

But before he could enjoy his evening sleep once more, the doorbell rang. Lunch time was already over, unless their dinner were going to be served earlier today.

Meyer went to answer the door. On the monitoring transmission screen, he sighted the four men standing in front of the door.

As if detecting someone was watching him, Ethan turned his head towards the direction of the camera. He waves his hand in the midair in greetings.

"Damm!" Meyer exclaim out loud, his body losing all ability to function at the instant and plummet onto the ground.

"What's wrong?" Hearing the sudden crashing sound and exclamation, Alastair sat up from the sofa. His brow furrowed when he saw Meyer's state.

"Your highness. They..." Meyer pointed his finger at the screen, but could barely made any words out due to instant shock.

"What's outside. Aren't they here to bring our dinner." Wearing the flipflops that was placed beside the sofa, Alastair stood up and walked over to Meyer. He turned his head, and looked at the monitoring screen.

Instead of overreacting like Meyer did, Alastair had a hint of amusement in his eyes. "Oh, they found my location sooner than expected."

"What are we going to do, your highness. General Ethan must be truly incensed." Meyer voice trembled as he spoke. He had never expected their whereabouts to be busted soon enough. His whole intuition was that they would go back to the empire once the crown prince is done with his job over here.

But who would have thought they would reach up to them first.

Ethan pressed the bell once more.

"Please open up the door your highness. If you don't answer, I'll have to open this door without your approval."

"Hmph." Alastair snickered, a playful smile appearing in his mouth. He tapped on the screen. "Oi, oi, look who we have here. What had brought the whole general Ethan to my humble abode. I must say, this place is too small to acquire your humble self. Perhaps you can turn around and look for better place to reside."

"You've been announced as a missing person, your highness. I'm quite sure you must be aware of that. As a general of the empire, it's among my responsibility to ensure the crown prince safety." Ethan glanced at the screen and said with plain expression.

Behind the screen, Alastair laughter resounded through everyone's ear. "What a funny joke you've there general. You're truly suitable for a clown, rather than a general."

Such a demeaning words would have warranted anyone's anger. Instead, Ethan ignores Alastair spiteful words and nod at the men behind him, giving them the signal to tear down the door.

The mental door that had been boasted by the hotel owner as being impenetrable was soon tore down in the hand of the three men.

Alastair face grew livid seeing their sudden action. The door came down, three armed men entering into the suite. The three both made way for Ethan, as he entered the suite.

"Please cooperate with us your highness." Ethan said once more. Hint of boredom appearing in his face. He was truly starting to get tired of this child play.

Alastair lifted his chin and replied tauntingly, "What if I don't want to? It seems like you aren't aware of your position, General. I'm the crown prince of the empire and soon in the future, I'll be crowned king; making you as my vassal. Shouldn't you heed to my order when I asked you too."

Meyer who was still on the ground shuddered in fear, afraid that they would come after him.

Ethan was truly fascinated by the young teen words. Half smiling, he said, "What makes you think I want to work under you. I've no interest in whatever ideology you hold. However, you should be cleared of one thing, you're a weaker person who depends on people to fulfill your task; while I have the power to do whatever I want. That's the huge difference between us. Hence, if you want to talk down to me as you want, you'd better reach my level." His tone went cold as he ordered, "Capture the prince and take him away also." The last four sentence was implied to Meyer that was lying on the ground.

The three guys went into actions. Two of them supported the crown prince and the other carried the half-conscious Meyer out of the room.

A huge sigh came out of Ethan mouth as he exited the room. The payment for the door had to be deducted from the prince account. In his opinion, that was very fair since he was just carrying out his mission.

Cedric had a smile on his face as his team came back from the wilds. Although their hauls today weren't good, he still had a satisfied smile on his face. That was because yesterday, the Tyron's team never returned from their mission.

It is common for mercenaries to spend time outside in the wild. However, Cedric knew the group must have had a dangerous encounter in the wilds. This was all due to his plan.

He really wished he could witness that witch Miley's last moment. It must have been really pleasant to watch. He still suffered some trauma from the last incidence Miley had put him through, hence his hate for her intensifies.

"I'll send everyone's share once I've tallied up our spoils. You can all leave." Although many were dissatisfied with Cedric act of exchange, but since he was the captain, they could only heed to his words and all disperse going to their respective place.

Cedric strode towards the mercenary's door, humming an indistinct song to himself. Just as he was about to enter the building, his ears pick on some syllables.

Tyron guild. Honor Points.

What does that mean. Shouldn't they be talking about the deaths of the Tyron's member.

Yanking a mercenary from another guild that was about exiting the building, Cedric asked bossily, "You, tell me what's going on. What's up with the Tyron's guild."

Although dissatisfied with the way he had been pulled, but after seeing the other face, the man could only swallow back his anger. The mercenary explained everything he knew about to Cedric, leaving the other party in a dumbstruck state.

They were being awarded honor point for their contribution instead of the news of their death. Where had everything gone wrong.

The mercenary also noticed Cedric expression turning from bad to worse. Hence, he hurriedly leaves before the other party unleashed his anger on him.

'Just where had everything gone wrong'
