Start of Competition

Perhaps, the girls lying on the floor had already gotten their awareness. They began to scream at Xue Yiran departing figure.

"Hey, you had better stop there!"

"How dare you hit us!"

"I'm going to report this to the authority. Oh, my hand. My hand!"

"Are you okay, Lia." The three girls immediately rushed towards Lia to check on her.

"Ahh! How dare that bitch twist my arm. I'm going to kill her. Stop her for me!"

Everyone watched as the drama unfolds. Ian was still standing at the same spot, his hands still in his pocket.

He lowered his eyes as he thought about something. The girl had walked pass him, without showing any expression on her face. Ian did have a bit of guilt when he heard that she was expelled from the academy. Then as the time goes by, the guilt started to fade away.

Now that he saw her, the guilt feeling resurfaced. Feeling a little bit unusual, Ian turned around and walked out of the cafeteria.

The moment he did so, he bump into Colton who also was about to enter the cafeteria. The two friends looked at each other. Colton then lowered his eyes and walked past him.

"How long are you going to get angry for." Ian finally couldn't hold it back. It's been months since their relationship went stagnant. Ian didn't like their long separation.

Colton steps paused at the entrance.

Ian continues, "I know what I did was wrong. I apologize okay. Just... It's kind of weird without having you by my side."

At the sentence, Colton couldn't help but feel a burst of feeling in his heart. However, he calms down his bursting emotion before saying, "Didn't you told me to get lost. I thought your training was more important than our friendship."

"I'm sorry okay. I was so overworked then, resulting me to have an outburst on you." Ian sigh. Their friendship had been going on for years. It would suddenly be disrupting to end it like that. Due to their long separation, he has been constantly spacing out during his moment of training.

"Okay." Colton turned around, the smile on his face was very evident. "I knew you couldn't do without me buddy." He walked forward and jerked Ian on the shoulder.

Ian chuckled at his actions.

"Have you eaten. Let's go inside and grab some lunch." Draping his arm over Ian's shoulder, Colton drags him into the dining room. And so was the reconciliation of the two friends.

...

The next morning was the competition day. All the students, were all dressed in their respective uniforms, as they entered the hover buses heading towards the large stadium the competition was supposed to hold.

"I heard you did something crazy yesterday evening." Louie had chosen to sit beside her again. "Quite feisty, I like it." Louie was ignored through the whole journey but he didn't mind and keeps chatting on.

Xue Yiran almost wonders if she had made a mistake about his character. He was starting to get annoying. She almost couldn't hold back her frustration. Thankfully, the bus arrived at the stadium.

Xue Yiran instantly made her way down the bus. The thirty of them gathered together and was led into the stadium by their homeroom teachers. It was early in the morning, yet tens of thousands of students had already assembled at the stadium.

The stadium was big. However, it's span was unlike the one in the virtual net that can contain billions of onlookers. The stadium was instead a smaller one compare to it. Everyone took their seat.

After some time, a crisp and pleasant voice sounded out from the heart of the stadium.

"The students have all been marked off now. Next, please welcome Vice-Principal Edward to the stage to deliver his speech for the opening ceremony.

Xue Yiran knew vice president Edward was the vice president of Roland academy. Being that the Principal of the school was always away, Vice president Edward was the one in charge of whole process of the competition. Counting it now, during her stay in Roland academy, the only time she had saw the principal with her two eyes was the during the welcoming ceremony of her first time enrolling into the academy. Ever since then, she had never caught a single glimpse of him all through her stay in the academy. She had heard that the principal was constantly away from academy and was traveling around.

Soon a middle age man climbs onto the stage. With his thick black eyebrows and thick black mustache, Vice-Principal Edward appearance was extremely amusing. His hands were clasped behind his back as he arrived at the stadium. Although Vice-Principal Edward appearance was amusing, his speech for the opening ceremony was especially stirring

"Welcome to the 300th interschool competition." His voice wasn't loud, yet every single one of his words appeared to penetrate through the air and travel directly into the ears of everyone across the stadium. "Every decade, the interschool competition is an event we all look forward to. Considering that this is a competition among thousands of schools, all to determine the best among them all." He paused before continuing. "Perhaps some of you might be starting to lose hope. However, I must say that is a cowardly act. You shouldn't give up on hope that easily. The events of the competition are always revised by top experts. This is to prevent people from knowing the event of the competition beforehand." He then began to explain the scenario of the competition

The first event of the competition is the free for all battle. The time laps of the competition would be holding for four hours, which would be taking place in a virtual simulation world. During the event, participants had to operate individually. As a result, grouping of people from the same school weren't allowed. Summoning of contract pet were also disqualify. As this competition is meant to test the physical strength of each student.

A total of one hundred and eight monitoring device would be dispatched into the simulation world. Once they found any student that was breaking the rules, they would immediately disqualify the student.

The objective of this event was to: 'Allow students to realize the ruthless nature of the world earlier through the process of 'pummeling' and 'being pummeled' by other students. This was a means device by the experts to spur students to work harder and earnestly raise their physical strength.'

Their task was to kill as many beasts they can in the simulation worlds. And also, they could kill each other too and acquired the points accumulated by the individuals they had killed all to themselves.
