Chapter 40: Prejudices

Vincent was pacing, a sure sign of nerves, while his other two mates sat on the bed and watched him. They had been trying to decide which topic to broach first; Bonnie had wanted to start with her mother, as it was the least traumatic for them all. Vincent, meanwhile, had wanted to go right for the throat…as in, what had happened to Lucas after he’d been captured, as well as how the hell he had gotten back home.

They had finally settled on the latter, as, despite her mother being not as bad for all of them, still obviously upset Vincent and Bonnie. However, when asked how much he remembered about Lucas being captured, Vincent had gotten suddenly very nervous and scared. That was when the pacing had started, something that the other two couldn’t stop even if they had wanted to. After about ten minutes of this, he finally admitted he remembered very little from that time, just anger, fear and a need to get his mate home safe.
