get upgrades.....for the car

When Marie and I woke up we made some breakfast. It was a simple breakfast during that breakfast we talked about our plans for to day "I think, I will fix and upgrade the van today. Do you want to help me with that?" "Sure! I'd love to help, Jack. Say Jack do you have any other plans for today?" "No, why you asking?" "Well I wanted to drive with the van again, to get a feel for the new upgrades. By the way how is your cheek doing? Is it still hurting?" "It's not hurting anymore, but I think it might leave a small scar, sadly. How are you feeling? Still angry about our ride being damaged?" She stayed silent for a moment before answering "I have calmed down about this, but I'm still as pissed about this as before." I nodded in understanding. When Marie wanted to complain about the animals again she held her stomach and rubbed her legs against each other "What is this feeling? It feels so urgent, but I don't know what it means." I just stared at her 'Does she need to go to the toilet?' "When was the last time you went to the toilet?" She looked at me in realization and I chuckled.

After we were done with breakfast I went to the door and noticed Marie coming with me. "You need to go somewhere or are you just following with me?" Marie shrugged "I honestly would be bored at home without you. So I decided to tag along and if I need to, I could help, since I am stronger than you." I continued to walk and said "Firstly auch, my pride. Secondly thanks."

We suddenly see David exite his apartment and Marie greeted him "Hey David. How you doing? Do your wounds still hurt?" He looked at us and walked along with us. "Hey. I'm doing fine and no they don't hurt anymore." I then talked "Dav my choom. How is your mother? She looked really tired when you two visited yesterday." He stayed silent for a second before answering "Thanks for your worry, but she is holding up alright." 'He lied, didn't he. *mental sigh* It's no surprise I guess' He then continued "Jack. Marie. I wanted to ask you something." Marie answered "What's your question?" "Why are you so nice to us? I mean normally people don't act that way towards each other like that in arroyo, unless they are related. It's so weird for both me and mom." Marie replied with "What's so weird about treating people like people, instead of enemies? In fact, we find it weird that most people in night city don't treat fellow humans like people, but like dangerous animals or even enemies." David chuckled in a sad tone "I guess it's because most people have miserable lifes here in NC and it could end at any moment." I looked at him and try to cheer him up by saying "Dav, that's the very reason people should be kind to each other. The secret to true happy is to be able to share your happiness, because humans are social creatures. We are made to be talking and socializing with each other. I mean look at us. We have shared food ,time and kind words with you and your mother. It made us buddys in just a short time. Our kindness made all of us happy." Marie nodded and David had a satisfied smile "I guess when you put it that way then it really does make sense to be kind." "Anyways. We need to go and fix our van. After all, the holes won't fix themselves." When we started to walk away, we heard David shouting "Wait! That damaged ride is yours!?" Marie giggled a bit and continued walking.

After Jack fixed and upgraded the van with a bit of armor, a turbo and a ram, he began to unconsciously say "I wonder if I should built a turret for the van some day." 'It seems he is in his own little world again. It's kind of adorable though.' "Hey Jack." He was a bit startled when I brought him back to reality "Yes, what is it and did I daydream again?" "I wanted to ask if the car is done being upgraded and yes you were in your own little world again." I looked bored at him and he said "It's almost done. I just need to tune it and for that you can drive around if you want to." "Finally! I was starting to get bored here." "Really? I had a lot of fun though and you looked so curiously at me working on the car. It was like a kid watching and helping his mother or father cook." He laughed and I gave him a little punch to the shoulder. I told him "Let's go."

When we were on the road Jack was sitting in his seat with a cable from his wrist attached to the upper area of his foot compartment. While he was busy with tuning I told him how the car felt and at times I even had to Rev the engine, which was a surprising amount of fun. After he was done with tuning he connected his cable to my neck "Hey! What are you doing!" "Stay still for a moment. I want to upload the physics behind drifting into you so you can slide around with the van. I have a feeling you'll like it." "I doubt it will be that fun to drift around." I drily replied.

While we drove around to explore the city a bit more, while talking about drifting and the science behind it. Eventually we drove to pacifica and we got a message from the NCPD that there was a small group of animals that stole a briefcase and kept it. Anyone who retrieves it and returns it in a NCPD station will get a rewarded with eddies. I smiled wildly and looked at Jack "It seems we will get our revenge sooner then expected, Jack."
