What Do You Think?

I'm not sure how long it was for, but she didn't let me go for a while. When Sophia did eventually let me go, she held onto my hand and spoke rather softly.

"Are you... sure? I'm fairly certain that it will be quite lonely when you've parted."

I blinked a few times, looking at the tree a little longer. After taking a deep breath, I responded.

"I'm not saying that it's off the table entirely. But there's still time to decide, so there's no need to make the choice right now."

She laid her head on my shoulder and let out a small sigh.

"Alright. But don't keep me waiting too long, whether your answer is yes or no, ok?"

I gave a slight nod.

"I will try not to. Though I can't help but wonder why you care so much when really, we don't know each other that well."

Sophia let out a giggle, smiling softly.
