Cedric

Cedric took a deep breath before turning around. He looked quite annoyed.

"What am I supposed to take this as?"

I tilted my head to the side.

"Exactly as it looks like, Lord Cedric. I am holding up your daughter for ransom. Frankly, even the layman can tell that this kingdom is being targeted for God knows what and I have no intention of involving myself more than I have to. But before I get out of here, it's never a bad thing to have some extra money."

Making sure my words were spoken slowly and deliberately, my mind whirled as I tried to figure out the best way to force him over the edge. I couldn't ask for too ridiculous an amount, otherwise that would essentially blow my cover, showing that I wasn't serious about this at all.
