Chapter 5: Pitiful Orc race

Novice Village

This is a subsidiary village under the Orc tribe of Stone. Crudely made houses filled the streets and there were only a few shops that could be seen.

The Stone tribe is known as one of the top 6 tribes of the Orc race. With such an achievement, people may think that the village under them would be prosperous but clearly, that was far from the truth.

The reason behind this mystery was closely related to an event that took place 1,000 years ago that implicated not only the Stone tribe but also their race as a whole.

Orcs are known for their ferocious and war-like nature. This is already a consensus among all the inhabitants of the Overworld but to the Orcs, this fact was nothing but a lie, dirty water poured onto the heads of their race.

Orcs lived in the southern part of the continent in a forest where towering trees blocked the sky. The sentence may reflect the prosperity of the land but it's far from reality. The trees that are said to block the sky were black and had no signs of vitality in them.

From this and a few tests they conducted, the Orcs concluded that the land was unsuitable for the growing of crops, and because of the trees that blocked the sunshine, the environment wasn't favorable in any way either.

Luckily, the Gods didn't forsake the Orc race in the sense that the Dark Forest is filled with wild beasts that they can hunt but this is not a risk-free venture either as there are some strong beasts among their prey.

With these conditions, all the Orcs naturally focus on obtaining strength and practicing their skills. The pressure from external threats also hinders the development of the tribe internally, causing their education to be low thus making them look like barbarians and savages.

Added to that was the calamity a thousand years ago.

The entrance to the Overworld, which could be found at the center of the Primordial Continent, was breached by the demons and the devils with strength between the 1st to 3rd circles.

Caught off guard, the races of the Primordial Continent suffered heavy losses putting them in a passive position.

Faced with the threat of extinction, the races of Primordial Continent put aside their enmity and grudges to form an alliance.

They fought a long war that lasted for years. In the end, even with the cumulative power of all the races, they didn't manage to gain an advantage. It is rumored that if not for a human king becoming a God after his battle with a half-step 4th circle demon and subsequently annihilating the enemy forces in one fell swoop, the Alliance would have been defeated and the Primordial Continent would be plunged into eternal darkness.

Back to the Orc tribes, living in a remote forest, the Orcs don't even know of the existence of demons and devils. What makes matters worse is that unbeknownst to them, an injured devil manages to flee in their direction.

This devil whose name was Raz had the power to control the mind and was good at conjuring illusions. At first, Raz was scared out of his wits when he learned of the Orc's existence thinking that they are a part of the alliance tasked to clean up the demon-devil remnants.

Observing the orcs vigilantly, Raz breathed a sigh of relief before a strange light flashed in his eyes.

He discovered two pieces of good news: First, the Orcs are not a part of the alliance. Second, though the Orcs had strong bodies and tough flesh they had relatively weak minds.

With his power to bewitch people, Raz controlled the whole race to slaughter the nearby races' town taking many lives.

The issue was resolved afterward, the alliance that had just gone from war didn't relax as Raz expected and managed to track him down and put an end to his schemes.

Though it was later found and proven that the Orcs were under Raz's control. They can't change the first impression that their bloody "debut" made to the races of the continent.

The races near them refused to trade with them and still hold grudges despite the explanation given by the higher-ups of the alliance.

It also didn't help that the Orcs look like monsters and they are even more ostracised with some people saying that their race originated from the demons themselves thus creating the desolate scene now.
