A Moon, A Star and A Raven

“And the Raven, never flitting, still is sitting, still is sitting

On the pallid bust of Pallas just above my chamber door;

And his eyes have all the seeming of a demon’s that is dreaming,

And the lamp-light o’er him streaming throws his shadow on the floor;

And my soul from out that shadow that lies floating on the floor

Shall be lifted—nevermore!”

-Edgar Allan Poe, The Raven.

The light flickers before finally turning on, casting an eerie glow upon the dark basement as a hooded figure slips into the room. Each step they take echoes through the almost soundless space, their wet shoes leaving a chilling trail behind them. Crossing to the opposite side, the figure approaches a wall adorned with an array of pictures. As they draw nearer, the images come into focus—snapshots capturing Midnight Hazelwood with her friends, family, manager, and Xavier Cavannaugh.
