The building went down with a mighty crash of what would have been concrete on Earth. The last flicker of flames drew a sharp outline of a chaotic aftermath of walls crumbling like dry cookies when Ian was sucked into the vast nothingness between dimensions.

Ian felt himself pulled towards the white that was black that was white. He forgot everything, his name, the name of his system, he even forgot about Lilac and Diana, and that would have been scary if he had remembered how to be afraid.
