Chapter Twenty-Nine

Sophia stared at the gate to the city with a cold glare. No matter how hard she pounded on the door or how long she shouted, nobody was answering her.

"I'll have you guys strung up for this, " she hollered in a last-ditch effort to get someone's attention. Again her threats went unanswered as the gate guards either ignored her or weren't at their posts. The only time a gate guard was allowed to leave their position was if there were a crisis and the citizens were at risk.

The Bear, who decided to follow her to the city, sniffed the gate curiously, for all she knew, he was looking for a place to take a leak.
