Chapter Twenty-Eight

Peter couldn't believe the rotten luck they had to run into Captain Triston of all people.

What the hell was he even doing out of his own district? They had already crossed into captain Felix's territory, so there was no reason he should have been here.

"Stay quiet and let me do the talking, and remember, your an old woman, so try to hunch down a bit, " Peter said quietly so as not to be heard by Triston.

The girl nodded in understanding and hunched her shoulders and her back to look the part while keeping her head lowered from view.

"Some old lady got spooked by the alarm and lost her way. I'm just escorting her to captain Felix so he can get her sorted out and return her back home safely," Peter said, hoping the captain would buy the story.

"Oh really, " the Captain said with a wide vicious smile.
