Chapter Thirty-Eight

Sarah stared down at the now doll-sized woman torn between laughing and panicking. If this woman was a Scout for the Hero Organization, then the nice old man could be in serious trouble. She was skeptical about the old man when he started shrinking the bear, but the more she thought about it, the easier it was for her to accept that the bear being smaller would make things a lot easier for the bear in the long run. People would find it simpler to approve of a regular-sized bear than one that was three stories tall, after all.

"I don't suppose your power will wear off eventually, will it?" Sarah asked in a small voice. She wasn't sure why, but she couldn't bring herself to raise her voice. Like doing so would be disrespectful or something.

"Of course not. If my powers wore off, then nobody would ever come to me for healing, " the old man said, sounding offended at the suggestion.
