Sarin stared at the casket of her dear father being lowered six foot down. This memory would certainly be engraved in her heart forever. She hadn't shed a tear or show any remorse but her mother had been a sobbing mess.

Something was changing inside at the depth of her heart or mind. After she found her mom on the floor in tears she just started at her father's immobile cold and palling body.

"Sarin ,you okay?" her aunt shook her out from her trance by hugging her from the side.

"Am fine aunt" her tone came out bitter.

"You don't have to be bitter but am going to tell you this before you make any decisions because I know you will" sarin nodded trying her best not to be rude anymore.

"Choose your fight wisely my dear don't make any rushed decisions" her Aunt said and left the burial ceremony. She stared at her aunt who had not shown any kind of pity to her sister, my mom.

As if she didn't feel bad for her which made Sarin wonder, if she was happy that my mom was alone or what was wrong.

Not many people had showed up except for the hunters and a few of some relatives plus some villagers. My mom was still kneeling at the side of the grave sobbing. Now it was just me and her against the world.

"Mom, let's go now stop crying" I urged as I lifted her up slowly.

"I killed him Sarin" she said as she hugged me tight.

" No mom, those monsters did it" I sooth her.

"But they made me do it , I didn't want to I promise " she was being hysterical now.

"Let's go" she nodded and stayed quiet all the way back home. The grave was behind the house inside the small farm. I laid her on the bed and she slept immediately after.

I had to make a decision on the direction my life would take. The killer of her father had to pay. Those freaking monsters would pay for ever messing with her family. Even her mom was becoming a tad bit hysterical, it would take her a few days to heal and come back to her normal state.

Sarin was sitting on the rocking chair in the middle of the living room when she heard a knock. Who would come to the house this late, maybe it was someone who wanted to offer their condolences so she stood and went to open it.

She opened and was met by Grey looking down at her. She slammed the door shut and went back to her chair but she heard it open and he followed her inside.

"What do you want fraudster?" she deserved a right to be bitter right? he lied to her for days then dissapeared from her sight ever since that day at the market.

"Geez, calm down princess" he said leaning on the wall instead of sitting on the chair.

"What do you want?"

"Nothing, I just came to check up on you"

"Why do you care, go back to the cave you were hiding in" she uttered angrily ready to go to her room.

"What happened to you? " he asked generally curious at her change in attitude.

"My dad died two days ago and my mom is-i don't even know" tears stinged her eyes. Just what she was looking for, tears. She placed her elbows on her knees while her palms were covering her face.

"Hey" he said as he walked closer to her and patted her head gently. At least now she could cry, he triggered her tears. He appeared and she cried, she shouldn't be worried by that reaction.

"Don't cry princess, it'll be ok" he whispered still patting her head gently. Somehow his words reassured her mind but in real sense nothing was ok.

"How will it be, those monsters killed my father and now they're out there hurting more innocent people and families" she said with tears rolling down her cheeks. She watched him squat Infront of her and wiped one tear with his thumb.

Her heart did a backflip but she couldn't focus on that this minute since pain and a feeling of wanting to revenge shrouded her whole being.

"How about we deal with those monsters accordingly, who are they?" he asked, his eyes flaming into hers. She wouldn't drag more people into her family's mess , she could do this alone.

"No Grey , this is my battle to fight not yours" she said as she wiped away her tears and leaned back on the chairs and rocked it slowly.

"Ok, but if you need me just say my name and I'll be there" he sat on the floor Infront of her and they watched each other.

"Just say your name?"

"You'll just whisper it and I'll come" he said sweetly. Her heart beat palpitated at his words. He was never this gentle before. She nodded and ended up sleeping on the couch.

*********

Sarin had woken up early to go to the meeting house where all the hunters usually met up. She had made a decision and it was a final one. She had found herself in the bed tucked in well and her thoughts scattered every time she thought of who did it.

The small whispers behind the door slowed her footsteps and she litsened.
