" Klaus?" she called after some minutes of sensing someone's eyes on her. It wasn't new , at least she had one supernatural power.

She saw him earlier and they had been staring at each other for some minutes which was weird but also comfortable.

He hummed out his response and walked out of his hiding spot in the darkness walking to her side. He still looked like his ever imposing and courageous self except now she saw him differently.

He was her saviour,since he saved her from them.

He protected her. He had always been there when she lost hope and strength.

How hadn't she noticed this already.

He was her knight in shining armor and she was the damsel in distress.

"Thankyou" her heart swelled with something unknown.

"How do you feel now?" he asked sitting at her side of the bed.

"Better thanks to you"

" Good, I was waiting for you to recover so you could tell me where your family dissapeared to" he asked her but she was trying to avoid the mention of the traitors in her life.

" I have no idea where"

"Are you sure Aella?" something about how he looked at her now made her shiver. But not the bad shiver the good shiver. The way her name rolled off from his mouth made her sweat.

Something obviously changed.

She nodded and looked down cast.

"Ok, rest now I'll be here tomorrow morning" he said and walked to the window.

" What do you wanna do to them if you find them?" she hadn't slept even after forcing sleep for the past fifteen minutes. The tension in the air made even harder to sleep.

" Not anything good" he said as he turned around to look at her. The look in his eyes made her flinch but also excited her.

" You don't have to Klaus, it's not necessary"

"What do you mean it's not necessary, it's very necessary Aella ,did you see what they did to you. When I brought you in here you were crying and and flaming hot plus very weak and with bruises all over your body" he was already beside her his hand on the side of her face. She wasn't sure if it was the anger speaking but she could feel the raw anger in his voice.

Tears stinged the corners of her eyes, no body ever cared about how she was and here he was angry at what they did to her.

"You care?" she blurted out unknowingly. He seemed caught off-guard by the question that he only stared at her. The next action shocked her , he walked to the other side of the bed, pulled away the covers and joined her. He pulled her body close to his body and made her face him.

"I care very much Aella or else I wouldn't have come to save you that night" he said as he wiped the tears from her eyes. Even she didn't know she was crying.

"Thankyou"

"Welcome and stop crying I don't know how to handle crying people" he said trying to lighten up the mood. She smiled and scooted closer to him to hide in his chest.

The feeling of security ,and for the first time, care consumed her and she enjoyed the feeling and eventually fell asleep.

Klaus hadn't had felt more peace than what he felt right now. She snuggled more against him as if she wanted to get under his skin if possible.

First he was angry since she cried and what happened to her infuriated him more. That day he arrived just in time to find her almost been dragged out of that basement.

What was happening down there ,he knew since apparently ,Dayn showed up and and told him and he guided him on where to find her.

Dayn was after Aella's father so that's why he helped.

What her father was trying to do to her was completely unforgivable and he would not allow him to just go freely after betraying when he almost got her killed. Looking at her peaceful face while asleep he smiled.

Now she was his to protect and take care of and guide. So whether she liked it or not ,she was left with no other option but him.

Sarin hadn't slept in days, she was afraid to wake up and find her dear father dead and also scared of the monsters in her dreams.

She woke up and tiptoed to her father's room to watch him for the second night now.

He was half asleep even today so she just sat at the chair next to his bed.

"Dad I am scared , something weird is bothering my dreams and then am scared that you'll leave this world and I don't want you to" she slept on his palm saying all this. Her minutes of silence were disrupted by a cough from her father.

"Sarin the harbour" he started, she shushed him like usual but today he was insistent.

"No litsen sarin " he coughed" go to the dark forest in the harbour, they're going to kill me anyways"

"Who is going to kill you?" she asked urgently, fear creeping up her spine.

"Water?" she ran out of the room to get it but due to the haste she broke the glass on returning she found her mother on the floor crying.

"Mom, what happened" she asked placing the glass away and shaking her dad lightly.

" He's gone Sarin"
