Sarin swung the sword, it was a good sword, hard enough to hold and at the same time, it was strong and flexible enough that it could absorb massive shocks and not break at any instant.

She was furious. Her opponent was a knight in training. He didn't have alot of skills in swordship but she didn't give him a chance to recuperate after her harsh blows.

Bethany was her coach, she said she couldn't spar with Sarin since she was too skilled and would end up hurting Sarin.

"Take it easy Sarin" Beth said while gulping down water. She enjoyed this, swordsmanship, it made her feel like her dad was there with her. Teaching her, telling her to widen her feet stance and grip the sword tighter but not too tight. She always wondered how she could do that but she was too young back then.

She would end up with blisters on her palms and her mother would scold her dad for overdoing it. He would say that he would ease up on her then the following day he would teach her how to punch.

She missed him, how he ruffled her hair in approval when her blows to his palms were precise.

She bent down to avoid the slash of the sword to her stomach while the knight was busy enjoying the little victory she slid her leg to trip him and he fell face first, she stood and pressed the edge of her sword on the back of his neck. He gave up and surrendered.

"She's too good" the boy mumbled from the ground.

Sarin threw the sword on the ground and walked towards Bethany and drank water.

"Never knew you were that skilled you just need polishing, what about knives?" She nodded.

When her father taught her everything there was about hunting, he went all the way.

"Good, why are you so furious though?" Bethany drew a sword from the scabbard and started running her finger on the sharp edge of the sword.

"Am not furious" Beth saw through that lie. Her dreadful dreams were back. At an intensity she literally couldn't understand, worse than when she was in Cunningham.

Oak harbor, Red lake, Red rules, Wolves.

She needed to find the so called Oak harbour or else she would lose her mind.

"You are" Bethany's finger dripped. She had cut herself, the blood didn't reach the ground it's like it evaporated. She stared at it.

Red.

The more she stared at it the more she remembered Grey. That night when her father died and she sat in the living room sad when he came.

"𝐽𝑒𝑠𝑑 π‘ π‘Žπ‘¦ π‘¦π‘œπ‘’π‘Ÿ π‘›π‘Žπ‘šπ‘’?" she was broken.

' That's what he told her to remember that day. He had offered her protection no matter where she was.

Her foul mood wasn't better but lightened up the more she thought of him.

That day she sat and he came back with a beautiful golden necklace which she was currently wearing. It had an S initial and small crystal which made it even prettier.

She thanked him with the best smile and he just stared her for over five minutes while she put it on herself.

Then he bit on his arm and she stared at it with disgust but drank it after all. The coppery tangy taste of blood wasn't so bad but this was vampire's blood. She didn't take too much, he laughed at her expression when she drank water immediately after to wash it down.

If someone ever told her three weeks ago that she would be drinking some vampire's blood in some foreign place, she would have just stared at them amused.

The wound on her wrist didn't take more one minute to heal

That evening she went on to tell him about her father's death, she had opened up and cried at some times. She told him her fears during that time her father was on that death bed.

Gray told her that it was a rogue that attacked her father. At first she didn't believe him but he later explained that he saw it happen. She wasn't completely convinced but she always guessed that there was no way it was an elite vampire.

She didn't believe her mother lied but she understood her reasons.

Later that night her took her back to the castle though some secret passage them dissapeared when some knights came into view. Bethany never asked any questions.

She hadn't seen him since.

It was seven in the morning when Ava showed up in panic. Sarin looked at her walk towards them still in her night clothes which consisted of a short silk dress with an exposed neckline it reached just above her knees plus a robe on top but her legs were partially visible, she didn't even seem to notice.

"You've decided to give the boys a show this morning, huh sis?" Beth gave her sister one look then looked away. Sarin contained her laugh due to the panic on the woman's face. Ava was pretty especially with that petite figure, long blonde hair, brown skin and blue pretty eyes.

"I lost her Beth" her worried expression didn't change.

"Lost who?"

"Sarin, she wasn't in bed this morning" she sat down and cupped her face in her palms.

"You practically live in the same room, maybe she's one of the rooms in the castle"

"She's not, I can't feel her like I usually do"

"So you seriously don't know where she is?" sarin asked.

"No"

After some minutes beth spoke, "Its your fault by the way" Sarin and Ava snapped to look at Beth still cutting herself with the sword. Ava looked at the action and looked away hiding an emotion no one could comprehend.

"You didn't help her, a promise is a debt Ava you promised she would learn about her power and more about herself but you arrived here and told her to attend the classes which aren't actually meant for her plus she's curious, it's natural to anyone who doesn't understand what they are capable of so I can't blame her if she left" Beth put back the sword and looked at Ava sternly. They seemed to be communicating internally then Ava looked down.

She nodded. When she looked up she looked genuinely sorry and mad at herself then her eyes lit up and she looked at Sarin with hope.

"I think I have an idea of where she is, she's safe at least" Bethany nodded and Sarin relaxed.
