The Other's Story

The elevator soon arrived at its destination and Sia walked out of it. She headed for the changing room to change her clothes into something more suitable for training.

Sia wore a black skin-tight battle suit that highlighted her voluptuous curves and walked into the training room.

It was a large room with nothing but a white color painted in every corner of the room. A panel soon appeared before Sia's eyes, it displayed multiple different options that she could choose from to train. She held her chin with her left hand in contemplation for a while before saying to herself:

"...I'll go with this for today."

The panel soon disappeared from her view as the white room changed its color to a bright red color. Multiple Corrupted creatures appeared out of thin air, some were humanoid, others beasts, and some were just straight-up horrifying abominations.

Sia didn't show any particular reaction to the view in front of her, she only summoned a katana out from her pockets and shifted into battle position. After that she whispered quietly:

"Begin."

The monsters, as if understood her command, began charging wildly like a bunch of rabid dogs at her. Even though they were not real, the madness in their eyes would make one believe they were actually Corrupted.

Sia closed her eyes a little before vanishing from her previous position, appearing next to one of the Corrupted. The humanoid monster noticed her presence and raised one of its claws to tear her apart.

She gave it a glance before shifting her body to a side, dodging it with little effort, a crater was created by the monster's strike behind her. She then changed her grip on the katana and made a swift and precise vertical slash against the Corrupted, which made it disintegrate into white sparks.

"One."

Another creature that looked like a giant bull ran towards her at a terrifying speed, wanting to pierce Sia with its large horns. She didn't attempt to run away but simply raised her left hand up, then channeled her essences, strengthening her entire body.

The bull directly collided with Sia as a cloud of dust was raised a few meters high. If someone saw this they would have assumed that the poor woman was already dead. But when the dust was cleared, it revealed Sia holding one of the bull's horns and she was only pushed back two meters before stopping the bull entirely.

The creature struggled but was unable to escape her tight grasp, before it managed to attempt anything else to free itself, Sia slashed horizontally, decapitating the bull.

"Two."

Just as she was about chase after another one, she noticed that three Corrupted were attacking her simultaneously. She decided to retreat since one against three at the same time was not an ideal move.

After creating a long enough distance between her and the three creatures, she went ahead to finish off the rest of the Corrupted.

Swish! Swish! Swish!

The unfortunate bunch who were alone died off in an instant, then Sia turned back to face the three monsters and was a little surprised by their action.

'Essences bombs...'

The Corrupted were forming three essences bombs that were increasing in size by seconds. Sia knew she couldn't stop them in time so she quickly dashed toward them. The three bombs were thrown at her direction and flew at an incredible speed directly at her.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Three loud explosions resounded across the space as the force behind it created a gale that was powerful enough to sweep everything away.

Moments later, the dust settled as the monsters looked around, trying to find the sign of the puny human's existence. Suddenly, they heard a cold and beautiful voice sounded out from behind them:

[Nice try.]

The beasts didn't manage to perceive anything, they only felt thunder slicing through their body before they disintegrated into nothingness.

Sia sheathed her sword in the scabbard before storing them back inside her pockets as she let out a soft sigh:

"Phew...that was some good exercise."

Sia then got out of the training room to take a quick bath to clean herself up. She changed into another pair of clothes and went back to her office where she relaxed and played some online games for another two hours.

After that she suddenly received a call from her secretary that made her raise an eyebrow in puzzlement:

'Weird...'

"Speak." She picked up the phone and ordered coldly to the other side.

{M-madam, your family wishes to see you tonight for dinner.}

"...Tell them I'm busy."

{T-they said you must come no matter what.}

"...Fine." Sia hung up on the call and her face turned into an annoyed expression.

She never had a good relationship with her insufferable family, especially her father. Even though she was the heiress to the family, they still wanted to replace her with a pathetic trash that was her cousin. Sia didn't understand the reason why they were so hell-bent on getting a loser as the family's head, but she could vaguely guess their reasonings.

'This is going to be nerve-wracking...' She massaged her temples in annoyance.

"Well...let's put that aside for now." She turned to the hologram as a crazy yet seductive smile appeared on her face, completely replaced her cold expression from earlier.

She went through something for a while before stopping at a certain file. She muttered to herself with amusement and interest:

"No.124...Superhuman project...Mark Walter...Attack on the northwest side-the abandoned area of the city..."

"Oh dear...Mark, to be involved in this...I wonder what other secrets you hold."
