The enchanted arrow pierced through the air. It aimed directly at the softest and most vulnerable part of the serpent's mouth.

Normally, an arrow enchanted by a mere Higher Evolved would never be able to penetrate the flesh of a Higher Surpassed. But Sia's subordinates were anything but normal. Even the weakest like Ryan could kill a Surpassed if it was heavily wounded.

The sound of arrow sounded out behind Achilles. Initially, he was relieved that the threat was over, however, his intuition suddenly screamed crazily.

He instinctively moved his head as something slid past his cheek, leaving a line of red blood. He realized that it was Ryan's arrow.

The arrow proceeded to fly toward the monster's throat, ending its flickering life.

The serpent shook for a moment before its flame of life snuffed out completely. The Corrupted collapsed motionlessly to the ground.
