Victory doesn’t always come through defeating your opponent

Fang Xian himself had no power against the rank eight being but he had the territorial advantage.

A cultivator had complete control over their soul land, as long they were within a certain distance of any given location, they could expend some of their soul qi to transport them to that location.

The remains of the mountain began to shake as the figure tried to escape and most of it was destroyed in the process.

Fang Xian frowned, closing his eyes and focusing. As he focused, around a dozen mountains from around the soul land moved towards the mountain remains used to trap the figure. When Fang Xian opened his eyes, he could see a large portion of the figure's body, showing that he had made great progress in escaping.

Fang Xian laughed and waved both of his hands, destroying all of the mountains without batting an eyelid, trapping the figure underneath the huge pile of rubble.

'This will only trap him temporarily, I will need a soul qi restriction technique to trap him fully and a higher cultivation level to eventually defeat him.' Fang Xian thought. 'I estimate this will trap him for around a month or two, in this short period of time I need to get a lot stronger in order to face him.'

Fang Xian's original plan was to cultivate almost exactly the same as his first life, however that plan now had to be adjusted.

He needed power, and he needed it quickly.

The soul is the only connection to heaven, however, the connection is varied in different ways. For instance, if the connection to heaven was one that harnessed the concept of water or if it harnessed the concept of fire. As a cultivator understands cultivation more, the connection becomes a path. There are countless paths in this world, each of them encompasses an entire human concept and each of them must be able to be used for every aspect of cultivation, only then can it be called a path.

In his first life, Fang Xian cultivated the powerful weapon path from rank four onwards, this path could be separated into many paths but in the end, it all came under the banner of weapon path.

Weapon path was a very mainstream path and one of the main issues with this path was the fact that it was quite ineffective against other weapon path cultivators. Fang Xian had thought of all possibilities before rebirth, him not being able to cultivate weapon path was naturally one of them. He had many alternatives to weapon path that he could cultivate, but his proficiency in these paths couldn't be compared to his ability in weapon path.

The best counter to weapon path was fire path, it could burn through weapons with ease, destroying the foundation of a weapon path cultivator. However, Fang Xian didn't like fire path, he felt that at the latter stages of cultivation, it was vastly lacking in power compared to other paths.

Fang Xian had great proficiency in another path, but this path was almost impossible to get into as a mortal cultivator, it was Fang Xian's main path when he died in his first life, chaos path.
