Consequences (II)

An ocean whose water was as dark as a starless night sky, swallowing all light in its inky depths, and not even the pristine glow of the bright moon, surrounded by a tapestry of stars, could penetrate its obsidian surface.

It was a thing of beauty or horror, depending on one's perspective, and a lone island stood atop the vast expanse of the dark ocean, appearing from far above like a small piece of rock on a desolate, barren landscape, with nothing similar in sight for tens of thousands of kilometers.

The island was shrouded in an aura of mystery and quiet foreboding, with a dense, ancient forest covering much of its land, where even the air was thick with an eerie stillness, broken only by the distant cries of unseen creatures.

At its center stood two towering peaks, rising to nearly the same height with only a few hundred meters separating them.

Atop one of the peaks, a lone figure could be seen standing under the moonlight, staring into the distance.
