Unidentified house-sized object

Gustav had already grown accustomed to the thought, that the demons he gave birth too, were superior in their certain ways. The demonic moles for example, were the best ore hunters across the planet, when it came to mining without a single tool to their aid!

It was difficult to ignore such a skill, but that was not all. They were exceptionally smart too, and picked up a whole new language through their couple days of extreme growth.

Nature didn't work like that at all, so it was fair to label these moles as superior. The newborns were honoring the title of superiority already, as they weren't helpless to the slightest!

Their independent nature was unexpected, even by Gustav who had a sense of what a demon was capable of. He didn't expect them to be so frantic, and all over the place.

"Ain't no way a bird could hunt them," He thought.

They went outside to deal with the task at hand, and these demonic rhinos were more than excited. Truly fascinated by the wide, blue sky, they pierced the air as if they wanted the sky all to themselves!

The guard house had apparently limited their speed. They flew three times faster now, in comparison to whatever speeds any man could pick up while running on the ground.

"Arila's gonna kill me for this, but at least she was wrong." He thought.

A moment ago, Gustav almost had a heart-attack. His kids disappeared from sight within a couple of minutes, and of course, he couldn't keep up!

When he ran just about one-hundred meters away from the village, the rest flew halfway through the piece of flat-land, which separated them from the ocean!

Such speeds were worrying, because the ocean was two-to-three kilometers away! Gustav almost died of fright, but eventually he caught up.

"There you are," He sighed, and crashed on the sand out of exhaustion. "I knew y'all weren't stupid! Look at you… waiting for your papa here, hehe!"

The heat didn't treat him well, even while he wasn't in that mammoth-like form. Paired with how he ran faster than ever in his life, just moments ago, it was a surprise how he hadn't popped a blood-vessel already!

Thankfully his problems stopped here, as he thought. "Arila was worrying about nothing, my babies aren't gonna die off that easily."

He referred to their discipline. Apparently the newborns understood what an ocean was, and even headed a prior command; They did not fly above the waters, but simply waited near the shore instead.

One of them even flew towards Gustav, once they noticed that he was close enough. The newborns didn't intend to get lost, because regardless of how fast their flight was, they still were as agile cognitively!

Anyway, after five minutes or so, he asked the demonic rhinos to fly as high as they could, without endangering themselves. The plan was simple, as they just had to look at the ocean and figure out if the sunken spaceship was anywhere in the perimeter.

It wasn't difficult to tell it apart from some normal rock down there, as the ship was pretty huge and could stick out like a sore thumb! They heeded the command flawlessly, and stalked the sky.

After about five minutes, Gustav started getting concerned, and therefore requested. "They've been up there for a while… look alive kids, your eyes are better than mine. Tell me if you see some random, dangerous bird up there."

The moles were here, as they had followed along without an ounce of regret. It was apparent that the moles were useful, even down here from the ground; Their eyes were sharp, since they were built to see through even the darkest tunnels!

After a couple of minutes, one of them reported. "Flying monster! There!"

It pointed that big claw towards the ocean, or above it at least. The mole screamed about a flying creature, but Gustav didn't yet see the same threat.

He searched for any singular dot across the perimeter, but was stumped. There was nothing there, at least not close by!

After half a minute of frantic searching, he looked at the mole and asked. "How far away is it? What kinda monster are we talking about here… man sized, or house sized?"

"Don't know, but it's not a normal bird." It answered.

Such uncertainty was tortuous, he didn't know how to react. It would be easy to decide what to do against a monster, but they didn't yet know if the approacher was hostile to begin with!

The term 'monster', was just an assumption at best because even these moles didn't have unlimited sight. They didn't exactly know who, or what rushed towards the ocean shores!

Regardless of these odds, the first step they had to take was still the best, and smartest. Gustav started waving his arms around, to catch the attention of the airborne, demonic rhinos!

"Come back here, kids! Come back right now or you'd get killed… and then your mother will kill me too!" He called out, like an overly excited ape.

After a few other shouts, they finally heard the command and started flying down. Speed was to their advantage, so these little demons flew towards their father in under ten seconds, even though they were over two-hundred meters above the ground.

Similar to any little parrot, they landed on either Gustav's shoulders or his head. They didn't weigh much, so his shoulders remained mostly free, unrestricted.

This was a well-timed advantage, because it might be necessary to handle a blaster or two.

Even though little time had passed since the approacher was announced, the threat levels still spiked for the worse. Gustav gave another peek at the ocean, and noticed a large dot in the far distance!

"I'm shooting that fucker down… at this point I don't care if it's friendly." He muttered, and reached for a blaster.

It was stupid to take a risk, as the plausible enemy was clearly over-powered. If it reached the shores and attacked, then this whole group could end up dead!

A demonic mole confirmed the threat, as it started shouting. "House sized! That bird is as big as a house, father!"

"Well, today it'll be fish food." Gustav answered.

Afterwards he said, "Girls, if you can see as well as your brothers there, help me aim."

Almost immediately, one of them bounced right on his arm, which changed his initial trajectory by a few inches.

Confidently enough, the rest of the demons screeched. "Shoot!"
