CHAPTER 18.

QUINN'S POV:

I walked into the cafe and easily spotted Adrian with the pile of books on the table he was at.

"Hey! Sorry if I'm a bit late." I said as I took a seat opposite him. He smiled.

"It's okay. You're on time. You look amazing." He complimented. I was wearing my signature white color in a pair of jeans shorts and a big T shirt with Converse. I had my tote bag with me as well.

"Thanks. You don't look too bad yourself." I said. He was wearing a pair of dark washed jeans, A white shirt and a varsity jacket.

"Okay. So we're going to start off here..." We dove into the books reading and asking questions as time passed.

My phone rang and I glanced at it. Xavier was calling. I wanted to ignore it but I knew I couldn't.

"Hi!" I said sounding overly enthusiastic.

"Where are you?" He demanded. I noticed he sounded angry.

"I'm at Rissa's." I lied straight through my teeth.

"Quinn... Where the hell are you now?" He snapped raising his voice. I was startled.

I glanced at Adrian who was watching quietly.

"Fine. I went out." I said.

"That wasn't an answer to my question. Why are you with that boy, Quinn?" He fumed and I quickly looked around. Sure enough through the glass windows, I spotted a red Ferrari which was parked right beside Xavier's Lamborghini I drove today. Only He wasn't in sight.

"Is that him?" Adrian asked as we both watched Xavier walk into the shop. I swallowed. Shit was about to hit the fan. I could only hope he won't create a scene here.

"What are you doing with her?!" He snapped and Adrian stumbled over his words. Xavier looked very intimidating right now, but I wasn't scared. I was cautious though.

"Xavier please calm down." I hissed at him but he ignored me. He grabbed Adrian by the neck surprising the few customers in here as well as Adrian and I.

"Didn't I warn you to stay away from her?!!" What the heck was happening. "Xavier drop him! You're going to hurt him!!" I yelled. His eyes went dark and I panicked. It was the cool grey and I knew but harsh steel.

"Let go!" Adrian wheezed as Xavier tightened his grip.

"Please! Just let him go!" I cried and Xavier turned to me, finally hearing how distressed I was.

He let go of Adrian who dropped to the ground choking on air. Xavier made a move to touch me but I backed away still wary. Like I said I wasn't scared. Just cautious.

"You're scared of me." He whispered but more to himself. "I'm not scared of you Xavi." I said helping Adrian up.

"Are you okay?" I asked softly. Adrian gave a weak nod and I proceeded to gather my stuff. Xavier had already left and was by his car with his head bowed low.

I could only imagine how he could be feeling right now. I said goodbye to Adrian and walked out as well. "Xavier?" He didn't answer. He just got into his car and drove off.

leaving me standing there.

With a sigh, I got in and drove towards my parents house. I needed a break.
